Easy installation. Plug and play.
I love this thing. It was exactly what I needed when I needed it and at a relatively decent price. $27 is a little expensive for something like this IMO, but in the 6 months since I bought it, it's been worth every penny. If you're looking for a way to provide a fast, stable connection for more than one device via an ethernet cable, this is the product for you, and it's simple to install. The hardest part of the installation was just moving my TV to get at the cords behind it. The rest was easy. I definitely recommend this product.

The real deal!
This is the real deal! Many of the other switches that you read about will greatly slow down the internet speed that you receive on connected devices. Not this one. I have fiber speed of 1gig and each of the four devices I have attached to this switch also have the same 1gig speed. Plug-n-play.

DO NOT BUY
Did not work! Tried multiple different power sources as well as connecting known working Ethernet cables in each slot in case I was picking the wrong one but could not get it to work. Just buy a network switch

Really Solid 5-Port Unmanaged Switch
First things first...Not sure why the item talks about it being a "Ethernet Splitter". Sure, I guess that is technically correct, but why confuse people with that unnecessary description? It's a network switch, and a switch does one thing (As per a very big network hardware vendor: "A network switch allows two or more IT devices to communicate with one another. In addition to connecting to end devices like PCs and printers, switches may be connected to other switches, routers, and firewalls, all of which can provide connectivity to additional devices." Anyways, rant is over. It's a small, very solid feeling gigabit network switch. The port layout is a little odd (Two ethernet ports and a USB-C on one side, three ethernet ports on the opposite side) but I could see situations where it's beneficial. What is that USB-C port for? POWER!!! Obviously a network switch needs power, and traditionally for a device of this size/capabilities you would have some AC adapter with a barrel connector on it. Meh, it's usually fine, although some of the AC adapters are unnecessarily large and can block ports on your power-strip. With USB-C you have tons of options! Terminate it into a small/compact USB power plug, power it from a USB battery pack, power it from a computer, etc. And thankfully it's USB-C (Still seeing new/modern devices using Micro-USB, why!?!). Bandwidth of the ports is as expected for a gigabit connectivity. Using `iperf3` I didn't notice any speed loss when compared against results with the host connecting directly to my router. Didn't notice any lag/stalling when connecting devices, and no issues moving devices around from port to port. It's an unmanaged network switch, it's not going to get in your way. Other than port layout I really wouldn't change anything with the device. The USB-C aspect is really attractive, especially if you're trying to travel and need something for trade shows and what not.

Nice splitter!
This unit easily splits a single RJ45 network connection into 4 ports. These are more like hubs than switches. Each device will get its own IP address on the network and easily communicate with other devices without hindrance. Altho, if multiple devices try to do large file transfers, all devices connected through this unit will slow down. The case is rugged, so easy to connect up and just drop behind a desk if needed to be out of the way. Easy to power using standard 5V USB-C power supply

Ultra compact
This network switch is noticeably smaller than other 5 port switches, due to the ports being on both sides. It is powered via a phone charger, and a 1 amp charger seems to suffice. I verified the speed by transferring to and from my home server, and I got around 100 MB a second, which is almost a gigabit, the advertised speed. setup was simple, just being plug and play, and I haven't had it randomly shut off on me, an issue I've had with cheaper switches. Overall, if you need more ethernet ports, this is a worthwhile purchase.

Small extremely useful 1 to 4 RJ45 connector.
Review of RJ45 Ethernet Splitter 1 to 4 Out, 1000Mbps with USB Power Cable. Well this little box seems to be causing quite a debate on whether this is switch, hub or a splitter, personally all I can say is all the RJ45 ports have bi-directional data capability at the same time, the signal strength enhanced by the five volt USB “C” power supply for the combined five data ports to supply or receive up to 100 metres in distance by cable. As for small this is an aluminium casing enclosing five identical RJ45 ports and a Type “C” 5 volt power port in dimensions 70mm x 70mm x25mm, each RJ45 port has two led lights orange and green, again a lot of debate as to the use of these, however for me green is receiving data, orange is sending data, all ports linked to each other so interchangeable in connection for whatever purpose. Personally proof is in the use so this connected as per the user manual, a hub for four CCTV camera connections, the video feed delivered to a CCTV multi camera video recorder, this achieved over a distance of around 100 metres in total without problem, all working and recording at the same time. A second test connecting 1 x PC, 2 x Laptops to my modem, again no problem all receiving and transmitting data at up to 1000Mbps, unfortunately this little box unable to work with POE CCTV cameras although a rotational PTZ camera could be used with a separate power supply. Although not tried the user manual states these splitters can be daisy chained to provide even more feeds but I consider 1 to 4 enough for one RJ45 cable, this item works as described despite debate on the naming description, for me more than adequate for the intended purpose I have and will be using it for.

Not A Splitter - It's A Network Switch
This is a network switch box, which allows 5 devices to be networked with each other simultaneously. That is not what it says on the Amazon title and description... The Amazon description says that this is a 'network splitter' which can connect up to 2 network devices simultaneously. This is not true. On testing, all 5 network devices can connect seamlessly and simultaneously. There is no 2 device limit. If one of the network connections is an internet connection, then it will supply internet connections to all the other connected devices. Connections are made automatically, without any manual setup. Incidentally, the cardboard box which it came in states that it is an HDMI Interface. That is another mistake !! That aside, it is a compact, well built device. It has a tough aluminium metal case, a premium appearance, and is powered by a USB C socket + cable (which they provide). All the connections are 'gigabit', which is the standard maximum speed for most home networking solutions. It has the green & orange LED indicators so you can tell which of the connections are active, or if something is not working, or if the plug has mistakenly half pulled out. I tested the speed of the connection, and got a maximum file transfer speed of 115MB/sec which is close to the theoretical maximum. So, in summary, this is a good quality network switch which does all that it should. Similar network switches, including ones from well known brands, are available at significantly cheaper prices, so you should consider this aspect when making your choice. It does work, but for the confusing description, and questionable 'value for money', it gets 4 stars. If they correct their Amazon description, I would consider giving it 5 stars.

Passes signal but strangled my speeds.
I have four AV devices that can either be connected to the net by wireless or by ethernet. If possible I prefer to go the wired route as wifi can be less stable for a number of reasons, including outside interference. All was well until I changed internet service provider and was supplied with a router with only two ethernet out ports. My initial solution was an ethernet splitter with one in and two out. That meant I could service one device from the router and two from the splitter and I would connect my BluRay Player wirelessly as it only needs to be on the net for updates, which are very seldom. Then I saw this device and reckoned it could solve my problem. The unit is a good solid construction with an aluminium case finished in a dark grey eggshell and has indicator lights to show the state of connection. A USB A to C power cable is supplied. I choose to connect this to a wall charging unit to ensure good supply. Using the splitter is simple as it is truly plug and play. There is nothing to download or to configure. Before I swapped over from the old 2 out unit I headed over to Netflix on my TV, which is connected by ethernet, and clicked on "Get Help" at bottom left and then on "Check Your Network". This runs a speed test . I ran 4 tests and the speeds were (Mb/s) ; 82.79 84.68 84.89 and 92.23. When I had swapped out the old unit for the new 4 out unit I repeated the Netflix tests and the results were ; 45.59 50.23 48.21 and 59.69. Those results indicate that the 2 port splitter is delivering significantly higher speeds to my TV than the 4 port splitter. That was all the persuasion I needed to put the 2 way splitter back in my system and the 4 way back in it's box. I will reconnect the BluRay wirelessly and if I have any issues with updates then I can always make a temporary ethernet connection to side step the issue. I am just not happy to put a component in my system that seems to be strangling my Internet speeds when I have one that is delivering roughly 1.7 times the speed.

USB-C powered 5 port Ethernet switch?
Was not sure what to make of this device. Printed on the Box are the words "High-Definition Multimedia Interface" and "Fighting for the Dream". An added label states "RJ45 Ethernet Splitter 1 to 4 out". The little network diagram printed on the top of the metal box looks odd too, with a node apparently not connected inline. The device is metal, with two RJ45 ports and the USB-C power port on one side. On the opposite side is a three more RJ45 ports. All of the ports are marked the same, 1000Mbps, None are marked for a particular purpose. The item description had me looking up what IPTV was, thinking that perhaps it was made for a specific functionality. But that is not a proprietary hardware specification. Plugged one port into a 20 meter RJ45 cable with the other end directly into Virgin Media hub. Then plugged in three laptops. Performed a speed test on each laptop, one at a time, which all reported the maximum download that I have (380Mbps) and 40Mbps upload. I Then performed the test again on two of them, and saw the Download and Upload speed shared evenly between the two. I intend to place this device behind the TV to plug a few of the entertainment devices in that are either using an Ethernet over Power adapter or Mesh WiFi. As such it does what I need, looks nice, and has flashing LED's on each RJ45 connector.
