I love hard boiled eggs
My thoughts on the Dash Rapid Egg Cooker: 6 Egg Capacity Electric Egg Cooker for Hard Boiled Eggs, Poached Eggs, Scrambled Eggs, or Omelets with Auto Shut Off Feature - Black ...I bought this because the family loves eggs in the morning, but get a little tired of the basic scramble or fried eggs. I love hard boiled eggs, but it's usually a hassle and a crap shoot to get them right. I saw a few posts in social media about egg cookers and did some searching. I found this product reviewed highly on a couple sites and the price was reasonable so I bought it. Overall, this product exceeded my expectations and works as advertised. PROS: - Consistency - the eggs come out the same every time - Ease of use - Pour in a little pre-measured water, pierce the top of egg (super easy with tool), put on the lid, push button (< 1 minute effort) - Automatic - It beeps when done you don't have to watch it or maintain it - Flexibility - You can adjust the doneness of the egg by reducing the water (the measuring cut has recommended settings and that helps) - Fast - Depending on your hardness preference (4-8 minutes) CONS - Another gadget to store in the kitchen somewhere - The unit is hot at the end of the cook, and you better wait until the steam escapes before touching/opening (< 1 minute) - I've made so many eggs, I can't eat them all It works with any size egg. It cooks evenly regardless of 1 or 6 eggs. I was happy to get a kitchen gadget that does exactly as it advertises for once. My wife didn't even yell at me for buying another gadget this time because she likes it so much. TIP: Buy this hard boiled egg pealer...it's amazing and works every time. These two products together is a kitchen zen moment. THE NEGG BOILED EGG PEELER RED In summary, I highly recommend this product, and I would buy it again.

Egg-cellent product!
I've always been curious about these little rapid egg cookers, but never bought one due to me thinking, "oh you're not THAT lazy, you can cook some freakin' eggs yourself." Well, decided to go for it because it's $16, I love eggs, and why not. Best purchase! Gone are the days of waiting for water to boil, then waiting for the eggs to cook, sometimes accidentally overcooking them, etc. And gone are the days of peeling impossible shells! Woo hoo! First use and I got 7 perfectly cooked hard-boiled eggs. It says it holds 6 max, but I put in 7, because 7 fit, and it worked perfectly. It's super easy to use and so fast, and you don't have to pay attention to the cooking at all. And the shells came off so easy! No issues! Highly recommend! This sounds like a paid review, but it isn't! This thing is great. And it doesn't even really require cleaning, unless you're using the poaching/omelette accessories, which I probably will rarely if ever use. Great value. Small cons: it should have an auto shut off feature, but this isn't a big deal at all. Also, the music it plays to let you know the eggs are done is a bit excessive, lol. But again, who cares. Not a big deal. If you love eggs, get this!

Indispensable and compact
Indispensable. Don't know how I lived without it. A miracle machine. Add the water, prick one end, pop into the tray, push the button and don't think about it until the chimer (cute sound) goes off. Easier to peel than a boiled egg. Compact size. I have the 6 egg.

Great for boiled eggs, but no true auto shut-off
This little egg cooker has made breakfast so much easier. I use it mostly for soft and hard-boiled eggs, and they come out just right every time. It’s compact, easy to set up, and much faster than boiling a pot of water on the stove. Cleanup is also really quick, which makes it super convenient to use on busy mornings. The only drawback is that it doesn’t actually have a true auto shut-off. It stops cooking once the water runs out, which does the job, but I wouldn’t walk away from it expecting it to power down like some other appliances. That said, it’s been reliable and consistent, and for the price I’m really happy with it.

Sound the Alarm- your eggs are done!
This is one of those kitchen gadgets that doesn't immediately jump out at you & say "I need that", but, after you try it, you will wonder why you haven't purchased one sooner! I purchased the Dash Rapid Cooker in the beginning of August, & LOVE IT. I'll admit- I do not like to cook, & I'm not at all good at it, so even when I tried to make hard boiled eggs on the stove top, they never seemed to come out right. :( Hard boiled eggs sound like something that should be easy to make- right? Maybe they are, & maybe I'm just "that bad" of a cook (lol), but to find a gadget to make your life easier is one of the main reasons you purchase any product. This egg cooker will make your life easier. It's a small, basic kitchen gadget. Not alot of buttons & not hard to use. You can cook up to 6 eggs at a time. For hard boiled, be sure to follow the instructions (I recommend allowing them to sit for an extra minute after the alarm for well done hard boiled eggs) & pierce the egg, place them pierced side up, cover, press button & the buzzer will let you know when they're done. Your neighbors will probably know your eggs are done too when the alarm sounds. My goodness, it scares me every time! (Manufacturers- can you make the alarm a little less jolting? The alarm reminds me of those bad weather alerts that scare the hell out of you when they pop up while watching tv). So the alarm is LOUD. Prepare yourselves. I paid $18 when I bought it (excellent deal). I highly recommend this if you like hard boiled eggs. I haven't used it for any other type of eggs so I cannot comment on that, but it is wonderful for hard boiled. When I purchased it, I bought the black colored one. Now, it appears they're also offering it in fun colors. Yay! Would make a great gift for your friends & family too. Happy Shopping!

Makes perfect boiled eggs quick!
LOVE this rapid egg cooker that was a gift and have since gifted 3 of them to family. This has become one of my favorite appliances to own and to gift! No more hassle of waiting for the water to boil, wondering if the eggs are ready, accidentally forgetting that you have eggs boiling on the stove, having a pot to clean afterwards, not to mention the struggle to peel off the shell without destroying the egg. This little wonder cooks perfect soft, medium or hard cooked eggs in less time than it takes to get your pot of water to a boil. There is little to no clean up, takes up little storage space and your eggs peel easily and perfectly every time! Be sure to read and follow the instructions the first time and understand which end of the egg faces up! Get back to enjoying boiled eggs and dishes made with boiled eggs. I own the black model and it plays a nice little tune when the eggs are ready that continues to chime until you press the button to make it stop. I learned that some of the other colors have a buzzer that sounds when the eggs are finished. Be sure to get a model that has a stem or handle to remove the egg stand for ease of removal. The model I purchased also has an additional "dish" to steam small amounts of veggies or to make poached eggs. Gifted one to my 77yr old mom and she is loving the speed, ease and convenience of being able to make perfect deviled eggs. Both of my college aged boys asked for one and love the compact size and the option to cook not only hard boiled eggs but also steamed veggies. Highly recommend!

Simple to boil eggs, have to clean the brown stuff on the metal plate.
I love boiled eggs and I don't like waiting for a pot to boil. I like to set it and forget it. With the Dash egg cooker, I pour the water and then grab six eggs. Push the needle device (part of the water measuring cup) into the big end of the eggs. Do your egg poking over the sink, in case you accidentally break an egg. Less mess that way but I haven't destroyed an egg yet. Had one fracture but it still boiled the egg fine.. The small ends go down, big ends have the holes pointing towards the ceiling. Put on lid and push button. 15 minutes or there abouts a buzzer will scare the life out of you. BLOW above the venting hole. Seriously BLOW, that steam is hot and you can get burned. I wouldn't recommend small children use this device. Push button and the scary buzzer stops. Don't go outside or to the bathroom. The buzzer alarm sounds like a fire alarm going off and could scare people out of a deep sleep. I like the scary alarm. Dash egg cooker shuts down when all the water evaporates but I like to know that it is done steaming my eggs to a perfect boil. Grab a bowl and put in a bunch of ice, add cold water and then your eggs. The egg cradle might be a bit hot, watch your fingers. Make sure that there is no steam coming out of that vent hole, BLOW a bit, you don't want a steam burn. Leave the eggs in ice water for 4 or 5 minutes and they peel nicely. Once you have boiled/steamed eggs the easy Dash method, you won't boil eggs in a pot ever again There is some brown residue on the metal heating plate after steaming your eggs. I believe that is impurities in the water. Just wipe it down with a wet paper towel after it cools down. Or use vinegar. I haven't tried to scramble, poach or soft boil any eggs. I'm partial to boiled eggs. For scrambled eggs I'd rather use a frying pan because the Dash egg cooker isn't going to feed more than a single person. I think it would do well for a college student who doesn't like to cook. I've had it for several months and it seems durable. I never clean the lid. It boils the egg thru steam, so the lid is self cleaning. The metal plate is a bit annoying due to the brown residue but not a deal breaker at all. It only boils 6 eggs which is good if you are the only person in the house that likes boiled eggs. If you have a large family that likes to snack on boiled eggs, you should probably look at a Dash cooker that can do more than 6 at a time. The device isn't very large, covers very little kitchen real estate on your counter. I'd encourage anyone reading my review to buy one. I don't know if Dash is a superior egg cooker or all the egg cookers are similar in quality. I just know it boils/steams eggs easily. Set your eggs, watch some news, Netflix, etc. and the buzzer/alarm will alert you to power down and prepare an ice bath for your boiled eggs. Simple.

Simple to use
I've been eating one hard boiled egg a day lately, and I've been buying them already cooked (you can buy a bag of six already cooked & peeled). The convenience of doing that is pricey. So I figured I'd get a kitchen gizmo and cook them myself (yeah, I know you can do that with just a pot of water, but where's the fun in that). Doing a casual search turned up this one being the most popular/best-selling one, so I purchased it. Today's the first time I've tried using it. I've never used one of these before, so I didn't know what to expect (success or disaster). The unit was easy to setup, really the only assembly was putting the stem handle on the egg platform. Instructions were simple to follow (once I realized I needed to read them). You have to poke holes in the fat bottom of the eggs. I sort of knew that and have been looking in the local stores for a kitchen gizmo for doing that - nobody here seems to carry anything like that. Had I bothered to look in the box first, I would have found out that something is included to poke those holes (duh). You also have to place the eggs with the hole up (I figured the eggs sat on the fat end), luckily I caught that mistake before I started the machine. I went ahead and set my kitchen timer to sixteen minutes even though the instruction manual said the machine would turn off when done (16 minutes). I added in the water, closed the lid, plugged in the machine, and pushed the start button. Sixteen minutes later the timer went off and I arrived in the kitchen in time to hear the button on the egg cooker turn off and the indicator light go out. The instructions say to remove the cooked eggs after the cook cycle and put them in cool/cold water - which I did. I let them sit while I rinsed off the egg cooler lid and the egg platform. That's all they needed just a quick rinse. The base I had to use a damp paper-towel on, one of the eggs had slightly cracked and I guess some of the egg juice had leaked into the cooking water. Since the water had all evaporated, there was a small amount of dried residue on the bottom of the base. The damp paper-towel was enough to clean that up. Trying one of the eggs (the cracked one) I found it better cooked than the store bought ones I've been buying. The white wasn't rubbery and the yoke was nice and firm and a bit fluffy/crumbly. I was impressed. I think this egg cooker did a wonderful job and I'm more than pleased with my purchase. I haven't tried using the omelet tray or the poaching tray, once I do I'll update my review.

Arrived OK!
¡No cumple con el estándar que dice! Es bastante caro para lo que es y tuve que comprar un enchufe americano. ¡No lo volvería a comprar!
