Family member using a walker and small wheelchair could not get through the door into two rooms in the house. Swapping the hinges made all the difference. I thought we were going to have to do a remodel and get totally new doors. A friend brought these to my attention. These two rooms are now accessible. The hinges do need to be installed by someone that can take the doors off the original hinges and replace with these. In other words, they need to be able to lift the weight of the door. These hinges made all the difference for us.

It would have been great if I would have been able to remove the old hinge and put this one in its place but its more squared corners required me to chisel a bit of door and door jam to fit the hinge. This is not unexpected as these type of things are not standardized but just know that you may have to do this depending on current hinge on door. To do this, I lined up the screw holes and then traced the outside of the hinge on the door and then chiseled away inside the marks. I then used old door hinge pins to knock these pins out so can attached hinge to door and door jam, put door in place and then put pins back in. Love that they do come in a three pack as all our doors have three hinges. The hinge is long enough clear the molding on the door jam. It worked out great. Will order for some other doors. It has been over a year a year and ordered more hinges for daughters home so her brother can enter bathroom without removing door. Now it is so much easier to visit and spend night at her family home as the door now opens wide enough to let the wheelchair in without taking it off the hinges!

We ordered the specific 3 pack on two separate occasions and only 2 hinges were inside. Listing a 2 pack and a 3 pack with a $10 difference, but nothing different in the packaging. Others have commented the same experience.

Mounting holes do not match the original hinges. Resulting in mounting holes have to be plugged and new holes drilled in order to use the hinge.
