Review: Not for serious students of the pipes - Compared to the genuine bagpipe tutor books, this seemed lacking. I also ordered three other learn bagpipe books on desertcart that were extraordinarily bad. Probably put together by people with no knowledge of practical piping, but have read a book on how to get rich quick by self publishing on desertcart. So I sent the lot back. This particular book was marginally better than the others, but I had lost patience by the time I got to it. If you want to learn the pipes the only real option is The College of Piping, The Highland bagpipe Tutor Book one which you cannot buy on desertcart. Review: Brilliantly useful and learnt lots! - Great mix of practical "how to" alongside history and cultural information about the bagpipes and an explanation of how it's made & why. Well-written & brilliantly useful and practical - would highly recommend.

Learn to play the bagpipes
This book is great to learn to notes used to play the bagpipes. I have both electronic chanter, and manual chanter. The difference is with the electronic chanter. I can plug in my headphones or ear buds, and I am the only person who can hear me practicing. The manual chanter...everyone can hear you. Lol. Getting very good and ready to play the whole bagpipe with the bladder and drones!

Not all bad.
The chapters on the types of bagpipes and their history is very good. The rest of the book, particularly the parts on fingering are unnecessarily complex and confusing. The only music to play is presented in Alphabetical notation, which gives no clue on timing and rhythm.
