Mehreen Baig
This book is a game changer. It will help your child pass her GCSE in English. It is really well written and easy to follow. Everything is clear and concise and Mehreen's passion is unquestionable. Mehreen wants your child to be motivated and do to well. The passion she exudes is refreshing and her commitment to your child's education is the reason why so many are drawn to her. There is something very unique and special about Mehreen and this book is clearly shows that she places all her emphasis on content and quality as opposed to a quick financial gain.

Love it
This guide is worth its weight in gold. It is incredibly helpful. Purchased when my son was doing his GCSE’s and it really helped to make a difference. Will use it for my next child too.

Little gem
Love this book. Really accessibly written and the enthusiasm and experience of the author really comes through. Some great tips for my yr 10 daughter as she approaches GCSEs. Baig is like the English teacher we all wish we’d had. Some really good ideas and tips for exams and coursework. Highly recommend this book.

Good content. Poor binding
The book starts with definitions of literary terminology, knowing your similes from your metaphors, your plosive alliteration from you juxtaposition, your oxymoron from you chremamorphism…The book has two parts, English language followed by a separate half looking at literature. There are set questions with very useful tips and learning, help with examination technique (e.g. looking at number of marks to be awarded per section). There is comparison of text by Shakespeare with 19th century and modern reading material. Notes on what is expected for the examinations, having already read the texts in preparation, learning to memorise quotations ready for the examination. The section on poetry has notable bullet points on things to look for when writing poetry.Whilst a very compact book (just over 100 pages), there is a lot of useful information here. I would recommend that this book is attacked early on in the GCSE course to enable students to appreciate what is needed in their two years preparation for the final examination in English literature and language. It is not simply a revision aid, there is much information that can be learnt in a compact format.A disappointing thing for me was the quality of the binding with pages coming loose within a couple of hours. I have not seen this before with Collins and it could be that this was a bad batch, but this is a real let down. I will have to separate all the pages now , punch holes in them and place them in a ring binder ☹ For this 3 stars, otherwise the book would get 4 stars.

The book that is the best for English GCSE support
The book is perfect for anyone at a low/medium/high stage that wants to get better or be the best. It is really cheap and crucial to aiding someone to their success in English.

Brilliant support for GCSE’s
My daughter struggles with her English and had a lot of time off school in yr 10. Since going back to school she has struggled to catch-up. She found out about this book on social media and it’s been a life saver. It’s helped so much with her revision and up to know, she’s been a lot more confident in her exams. Definitely recommend this book.
