The Wallflower: A Dark New Adult Romance

The Wallflower
Amazing from the start to the finish , 5 stars must read , the rolls of each character is awesome and I hope it all a happy ending but as of now it’s the messy part of the storyline and the drama and trauma of all the characters and how their brought up . The writing is amazing and the plot is awesome

Drew and Bel
This is a good story. The relationship between Drew and his dad is crazy. What I noticed was that Drew is supposed to be a tough guy with Bel, but when faced with Sebastian hitting him or his dad, he did absolutely nothing. It's kind of hard for me to get onboard with his bullying, but it's still a rage tuner.

Mind blowing!!!
Why did I wait so long to read this??? This was was amazing!!! From the storyline to the strong heroine. That to me was what made this book, she wasn't your typical heroine in the usual dark, bully romance, she fought everything thrown against her, she may have lost but she didn't go down with out a fight. I'm definitely buying this series and its only book!!!

Surprisingly good
The beginning was choppy and the redundancy was annoying but the author got better the further into the story. The story was good the plot twist and overall debauchery was good. I will go on to the next book because I'm curious and I'm confident the writing will be better.Bel is seen as white trash but she was manipulated and was in the wrong place at the perfect time. At the end you realize you were so foolish. Kinda like the sixth sense. Anyway Drew was perfect on paper (my paper) crazy possessive filthy tongue and all kinds of sick. Like I said perfect. Let's see what Sebastian has in store for her. Cliff hangers are bananas but Beck has me by the lady balls because I'm downloading book two as I write....

Holy Amazing!!! ♾️⭐️
Whatttt! That ending!!! Soooo much happened in the last couple chapters my head is spinning. I don’t know what is up or down or who is real and who is fake.So much happened in this book. And I loved everything I read. I am mad I just read this, as I’ve had this book on my Kindle for a while now. Don’t put this off, read it asap!!!Maybel aka Bel and Andrew aka Drew, meet because Bel’s roommate convinces Bel to do a “Hunt” challenge to race through the woods, and the winner gets a lot of money which Bel needs to take care of her sick mother. The chase scene through the woods had me on the edge of my seat. It was sooo hot and spicy. The push and pull between Drew and Bel was sooo entertaining to read. He didn’t want her, but then he did. A lot goes on! So much is left unsaid between Bel and Drew. Drew has a lot going on as he has a bumpy relationship with his father. I need answers. I can’t wIt to read the second book because this cliffhanger is absolutely insane!!! I loved this book so much and highly recommended it!

Crazies and cliffhangers!
Holy moly, my brain is kind of on fire. So much tumultuous churn is going on. What is happening?? It was very dark and spicy, but also so concentrated in the beginning. It's like we hit the last 50 pages, and all hell broke completely loose. The plot is a bit on fire if you didn't gather that. Also, I thought the characters would good, but I have a feeling they are about to get better. I'm so undecided on them with this steep cliffhanger. I'm racing in for number two because I certainly devoured this one. Great read!

SO GOOD!!!
Maybel really stepped into a path she basically set the tone for when she interfered in something that had nothing to do with her. I’m all for sticking up for someone, but had she minded her own business, she wouldn’t have caught the attention of Drew. That was really her fault. She then entered The Hunt in hopes of winning 25k for her sick mother. Now, this is when she had me yelling at my phone. Her friend explained things and even told her she didn’t have to do it. I understand why, but when Drew was chasing her, she acted all “sassy” and hostile when knowing beforehand if a person gets caught what it meant. Then proceeded to try to find a way around the agreement when she knew what it all would mean.“𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐞. 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐚𝐧. 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐬𝐦. 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐞. 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 P*. 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐚𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥.”Drew was a morally gray character. So unhinged. I feel like characters like him do bad things. Unforgivable things. Yet somewhere very, very deep inside is a soft spot for their love interest. Maybel being that person for him. If you think about it, he let her get away with things others wouldn’t have been able to. He’d done some unforgivable things to her. Things I wouldn’t have forgiven, but this is a dark romance. His filthy words? They had me gasping. His father was a classic you know the word. Drew was pretending to be someone completely different at school. As much as a bully he was, it wasn’t a surprise that he learned from a bully. That bully being his father. 𝐇𝐮𝐫𝐭 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐭 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞. I think Drew wanted to inflict the very same messed up things his father constantly inflicted on him. Drew has done some messed up things, but in a way I felt sorry for him. To have a father like that. A sick mother who was the only one who cared about him.Aside from Maybel annoying me during The Hunt, I actually liked her character. Having a sick mother has to be mentally draining. I know if my mom was sick, I’d do anything in my power to save her, but Maybel forcing her mother to try experimental treatments felt like she was taking away her choice. Her wishes. Maybel had some, 𝐒𝐎𝐌𝐄 backbone as well. Even when she was scared during her interactions with Drew, she spoke her mind. Stood her ground, not that it did any good. The banter between them was something else I enjoyed. She gave as good as she could. However, sometimes she didn’t have any backbone at all. She’d have sass, but ultimately let Drew do or say whatever. Even being called his “girlfriend” had her so weak.𝐈𝐭’𝐬 𝐟* 𝐮𝐩, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐞’𝐬 𝐚 𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐲 𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝. 𝐈 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐫. 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐡𝐞𝐫. 𝐒𝐦𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐡𝐞𝐫.Drew became very POSSESSIVE rather quickly. His possessiveness ran so deeply, I had to smile that an ordinary girl like Bel had him so bent out of shape.𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐡𝐢𝐦 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧. 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐝, 𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐞.Reality will always hit you in unexpected ways. Which neither saw coming. While I enjoyed this book very much, there was nothing but smex between them. No real connection. We saw different sides—a more caring side of Drew that he sometimes let out around her. Even in his messed up ways. We saw a completely different side of Maybel since meeting Drew. Together? Their interactions always led to something sexual.“𝐂𝐚𝐧’𝐭 𝐈 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐟*𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐞? 𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐄!”“𝐘𝐨𝐮’𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐬 𝐦𝐞, 𝐁𝐞𝐥. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐦𝐞. 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐲𝐨𝐮.”“𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐭𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲. 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐬 𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐩𝐢𝐝 𝐬*. 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠. 𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐦𝐞 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐲 𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐟* 𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦.”That’s the mask of Drew slipping. Finally showing something real. As unhinged and psychotic Drew is, I know it’s a mask which makes me like his character. The ending once again Bel had me screaming at my phone. READ THE ROOM! How couldn’t she see that he was trying to protect her? She literally saw the condition his father put him in. It was harsh. And painful, but there’s no way she missed the signs when he was literally begging his father to leave her out of it.Now Sebastian, he stole the show at the end. I’m sorry, but that little bit made me love him. Maybe I’ll change my mind about him in his book, but for now, I love Sebastian.ARC provided by Candi Kane PR for review.

Excellent read
Wallflower is a nickname given to bel from drew. This is a complicated book. Dark at times. But intense feelings and emotions enter into their relationship. Drew is an abused man. His father is a monster. Many twisted moments. This author writes fantastic stories.

unhinged MMC - love it!
I haven't read a darker romance in a while and honestly this was delicious and dark and kinda refreshing when comparing it to my romcoms and I am all here for that. It scratched an itch I didn't even know needed scratching. lol🤣🤣🤣So, yes, I absolutey enjoyed this book and the characters and I am already looking forward to the next installments in the series. This book ends on a cliffhanger and there will be a second book to finish the story of Bel and Drew.A little warning up front: This is a #darkromance. It does contain themes and situations that might be triggering, such as non-con/dub-con, so if you feel uncomfortable with these in particular, this book is probably not for you. In case you have other triggers, please check the trigger warnings before you start reading. If you do like dark romance though and have no issue with darker topics, then by all means go ahead and enjoythis book. It follows Drew, who is a college football player and a little bit of a psycho who enjoys (no spoiler, because it happens right at the beginning of the book) hunting Bel through the forest in a game - "The Hunt" - with no rules. He enjoys her fear and takes what he wants from her and he is growing more and more obsessed with her and the idea of owning her throughout the story. And for this he is using methods such as stalking her and intimidating her, so you might not like Drew in the beginning, but I have hope for our little psycho.😂Bel on the other hand is your typical nerdy good girl, who is focused on her studies, does tutoring as a way to earn some money and help out her sick mother.Bel and Drew come from completely different worlds, but the one thing they unkowingly have in common is difficult familial backgrounds. There is tension between these two, there is a hate between them that turns a little softer here and there and while the spice is there, there is still a slow burn kind of tension when it comes to the emotional part that I enjoy.Of coures there is also some drama involved that reached its peak at the end of the book when things are said and done that left me like 😲😲😲 and obviously left me wanting more! So, if you're up for a ride, a little hate, a little darkness and a little bit of unhinged behaviour? #TheWallflower is for you.🥰🖤

Beauty and the Beast
Bel, I feel for her, kept in the dark about her past and unfortunately catching the eye of football star Drew.I cannot find it in me to like him at all, even knowing the pressure he’s under from his father, so far his behaviour is irredeemable.Love the primal play tho, so thrilling tho a little messed up for the unknowing participants.Bel is adorable, so fierce and self confident, hoping to slip under the radar. Her and Drew are like chalk and cheese, tho they do say opposites attract. That ending tho, desperately wanting to know more and find out what Sebastian knows. An amazing book, can’t wait for the second part.

what a chase !
Drew and Bel and the world that was built around them had me sucked in from the beginning. That story kept me wishing for just one more page to read. It was impossible to take a break, impossible to breath. The book follows familiar ropes for whose who like the bully trope but the author made it perfect.Maybel is a wallflower because she doesn't like to draw attention to her but she is a strong heroine. Drew's attitude made me want to hate him on one page and hug him on the next. That book is the first part of their story and I count the days since the second part is released.
