McNett Seam Grip Sealing Repair Kit 30 ml

Bought to repair a seam on a coat the had come apart at the stitches. Very easy to use with well explained instructions on the back of the card. Put a little glue where I needed it and spread it out with the supplied brush. After holding it in place for a minute or so the glue had already stuck the two sides together. Just had to leave for 24 hours to be fully cured. The seam is as strong if not stronger than it was originally and is once again fully waterproof. Initially feels a little bit too much money for the amount of glue you get but then after using it I would say it's worth it's weight in gold to keep an expensive coat in full working condition.

Very good stuff. Very sticky. Get it under the seam tape and stick seam tape back to tent. Seems to work well. The tools they give you to apply it are a bit rubbish so you may have to use small painters brushes, cotton buds and cocktail sticks. As others have mentioned, don't forget to talc afterwards!

I used this to seam seal a tent. Very difficult to apply and doesn't result in a well presented job. Did some reading up and tried diluting with white spirit to improve flow into stitching, also to make application easier. It seems like a good, well adhering, flexible sealant... My struggle was in the application. Perhaps patience and a different technique is required.

The velcro on my winter waterproof coat had come away from its stitching along the storm flaps. Renewed the velcro and attached it using this glue. It has done the job perfectly!. Theres no way that velcro is coming off! I would highly recommend it.

This is easy to apply with the small or large brush that comes with it, I used the small brush for a 1 inch tear on one of the pockets on my leather golf bag. Following instructions I placed a thick layer onto the tear and spread about 5 mm each side. It had set when I checked around 24 hrs later. I tried pressing the pocket to see if there was a good bond and it does not look like the tear will widen. Can bearly see the tear and I'm confident it is now fixed. I read it withstands for pulling forces like if you had a tent tear or something so also multipurpose. For the price its good value and ice still got most of the tube left shoud I need it for another day. Would recommend.

After the drawstring on a couple of my Goretex jackets came unstuck after washing, I enquired about professional repairs, and the estimated £30 per jacket seemed fine, but the 3 month wait wasn't, so I decided to try self repair. McNett appear to be the leaders in the field of garment repair, so I choose this product. The application of the product is relatively simple (wear disposable gloves), with the main issue being keeping the jacket flat and stable during application and drying. In the end I used washing clothes pegs to hold the seam together. I gave the glue 24hrs to cure before trying the seams. So far I have the seams have held, but only time and further washes will confirm that.

Got this to help waterproof our walking boots, my partner has used this on his and it has successfully sealed the cracks and crinkles in his boots, would buy again.
