I just began my adventure into sourdough starter making. This jar set is perfect due to its open neck design and side jar measurements. It allows me to see just exactly how much my starter has risen after 24 hours by taking a quick photograph. It comes with a nice Red Rubber spatula for and is soft enough to get into the corner crevices at the bottom of the jar. The cloth cover allows it to breathe and not be airtight but it also comes with a airtight lid if that is needed while you store in your refrigerator. I got two sets which is going to allow me to do both regular sourdough starter and also Herman's sweet sourdough starter. It came with a small temperature thing to put on the glass which I haven't used yet because I'm not really sure what temperature I'm seeking. Although nearly any jar would work when making sourdough starter, this one is really nice for the wide open neck without a lip. This makes stirring and scraping the jar easier. The weight of the glass seems to be slightly on the lighter side , which is only important for durability and to prevent breaking. Just need to take extra precaution to not let it slip out of my hand while washing it . I think this is a good value for the money . Especially with the measurements on the side, you can get a better picture of just how much progress you're making with your starter sourdough. I recommend this item!

Pretty ideal. It's lightweight. Comes with breather top, hard top, very useful thermometer (if you're going to go there, and i do), and who can have enough spatulas? Very handy.

I get so many compliments and questions about where to get these containers. Easy to use and clean. I mix and store my overnight oats in them, take to work and enjoy. I microwave my oats to warm them and the container and lid have microwaved well. No cracks or leaks. A great value and they make meal prep easy.

These have been great for my Acai bowls! They freeze nicely and I love the little spoons that came with them. One of the lids came cracked, but still usable. I have found that the seals in the lids need to be put in when they are used.

These are adorable. Perfect for overnight oaks or yogurt and fruit cups. They come with wooden side spoons and lids. Dishwasher safe.

No need to over explain. Simple as it gets. Great product overall. Highly recommended!

As long as you are careful with it you'll be fine. The built-in markings to gauge your starter growth are nice. I pulled off the plastic seal around the wood top as that just seemed to get in the way. The one thing I don't like about it is that it is very thin glass which means I am bound to break it one day. I still use it from time to time but I also bought a couple of other jars that are much thicker which I prefer.

Looks great. As advertised. Unfortunately, I took two tries for get some sourdough started - both times it failed. Will try again one day. Fault lies with the operator, not the product. Might be a bit on the small size if you have a very active starter - I didn't.

Jars are a perfect size. No leaks with yogurt or oatmeal. The wooden spoon is not very useful though. Plastic would have been better.

This jar is much larger than most with no inside edges to clean. Easy to get your hand in for cleaning. The glass is thin compared to a jar and I worry about it breaking. It reminds me of the beakers we used in science class at school. Lid works well.

Bought this as a Christmas present back in August. The product was used just a few times and broke making the soughdough starter garbage. Very unhappy with this product and the wasted money spent. I would have given no stars if I had that option.
