Great for small group instruction.
I used this in my classroom last year. I do small group intervention. My students found place value easier to understand using this mat and chips. The mat stays in place on my magnetic whiteboard however, the number disks fall off quite easily when bumped. They’re good enough but could be improved upon.

Really helps with base ten home school learning.
I found this to be a valuable tool in my arsenal of home school math teaching techniques. It gives kids the change to see and touch their hundreds, tens and ones while learning to regroup them. The board is really big, so it requires a large table or wall to use it effectively. It arrived in perfect condition despite being large and flexible. I have been using this twice a week for the past several weeks to teach my kids counting by tens.

Fun and easy for kids or teachers.
I have been excitedly waiting for this. The first time I finally used it, I was subbing and had taken it into the room with me. I placed it on the whiteboard until I was ready to use it. Before I was even ready to use it, I turned around, and some students had started using it on their own. They were challenging each other and taking turns teaching each other. My heart sang!! Since then, I have used it several times for individual and small group lessons and showed the whole class how regrouping works. It has been a very useful tool for us!

Excellent teaching tool for centers or carpet time.
I teach math education to future teachers and have plans for modeling this in my course. I really like the details provided in the chart! Kids have trouble understanding how to regroup with both addition and subtraction. I like that there is an emphasis on using magnetic tokens that can be moved on the board and regrouped to make tens or show how you can break a 100 into 10 tens, etc. Since it is a dry erase board students can choose to either draw the chips or other manipulatives like place value discs or base-ten blocks as they are adding or subtracting meaning that the chart can be used in other ways than advertised. Great quality of the chart and it's easy to erase.

Great for teaching regrouping
These are great for demonstrating to students what is actually taking place when regrouping is necessary. Once students understand the concept of using base ten blocks to take apart tens and hundreds for regrouping, this magnetic set is a great way to cement the idea with actual tens, ones, and hundreds. This helps students to understand place value during addition and subtraction. The magnets are thin and flimsy but they stick well enough to the whiteboard. I’ve only lost a few. Also, the board can be written on with black dry-erase marker. Colors may be tough to remove.
