Friendship knows no size
This is a charming story about friendship with lovely illustrations. Looks like Tibet but why were they living in stupas?

Gentle sweet stories with nice illustrations
'Yak and Dove' by Kyo Maclear with illustrations by Esme Shapiro is a series of three short stories about two unlikely friends. In 'If We Were Twins' has Dove wondering what it would be like if Yak and Dove were twins. It starts out sweet, and devolves into typical sibling infighting. After their fallout, 'The Audition' has Yak looking for a replacement friend. Many animals audition, but there is only one who is perfect for Yak. The final story is 'Yak and Quiet,' where Yak grows a quiet garden, and Dove brings anything but quiet. The stories are gentle and sweet. So are the illustrations. I loved the interaction between these two opposite friends, and how their differences are overcome by that friendship. I received a review copy of this ebook from Tundra Books, Penguin Random House Canada, and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this ebook.

An unlikely duo
I remarked to my wife that although this is a children's book, it could easily fall into a category I just made up called "Children's Books Written for Adults Who Love Children's Books." Yak and Dove is a delightful story with splendid artwork. My favorite section is Yak and Quiet where Yak attempts to plant a quiet garden. Sidebar: Anyone else getting crazy paper cuts from near-razor sharp pages? Maybe I'm not being careful enough.

Fun Bedtime story
This book is great for kids, it isn't dumbed down, the stories are cute, it has chapters and the drawings are beautiful. My favorite quote is "I am lamenting". I got my three year old to use lamenting in sentences, which I find hilarious.
