Good iron .... until it wasn't
Lightweight, F and C scale easily adjusted. I like the quick buildup of heat. Gets to work fast....The above is what I said when I first bought the iron. Now, it's not so great. The heat transfer is next to non-existent. I changed out the soldering tip when this issue first arose. I have double-checked that I put everything back in place correctly.But the iron just isn't as good now as it was months ago. Soldering anything -- diodes, IC sockets, etc. -- is a chore. I fear I'm leaving behind cold solders. Worse, I'm wasting time struggling with this iron and then having to perform minute tests afterwards in addition to the general testing I perform after a finished board.I have tightened the bottom ring to ensure a firm hold on the heating element. I don't really know what else to do. I most likely will buy another iron.

Really nifty soldering set
The solder kit came on time and was complete as advertised.Everything one would need for a medium duty task was included: the iron itself with a digital control is, of course, the central feature accompanied by an assortment of 4 different tips.Also included are a holder for resting the hot iron during use, a generous coil of rosin core solder, soldering flux paste, and, finally, a small sponge. During use, the wetted sponge is essential for cleaning a hot tip. The kit is also simply a good deal for the money.
