Works well
This fountain pen looks smart with its gold coloured barrel and lid. There are tiny Chinese symbols around the rim of the lid and the clip is in the form of a dragon with little red eyes.Bottled ink or cartridges can be used, neither of which are supplied. I tested the pen using a cartridge that I already had.The pen has a nice weight to it, not too heavy or light. There are three nibs, all of which worked well. I like the 0.38 mm nib best as I found it so easy to write with. The 1 mm nib is the more traditional style and the bent nib (it looks odd but is meant to be like that) is designed for calligraphy - something I’m keen to try.I think it’s a good pen for the price (£7.29) and it could be given as a gift, the box it’s presented in lends itself to this. I would add some ink cartridges though.

Poor ink flow
The ink doesn’t flow readily and it a pain to get it working every time I go to use the pen

Chinese Year of the Dragon Pen - with Chinese symbols - what do they mean?
Had to go buy some ink as these didn't come with any - just one cartridge would've been a nice touch, so customers can use it straight out of the box...Looks like the type of pen you would expect to find in a church when the couple sign their names on their marriage certificates, i.e. it looks a bit official. On the lid there is a tiny flat dragon's head, with red eyes! So I think this is designed for the Year of the Dragon, 2024, I wonder why they didn't include that in the title? The weight in the hand is okay. The nib that it arrives fitted with, is etched with 'Iridium point Germany' - interesting! You have to pull hard to get the cap off and push hard to click it on again, which is a bit of a let down, should be a nice simple click on and off.So.... how do they actually write, well my normal angle is around 45 degrees. At this angle, the fine nib and German nib are scratchy and noisy. However, when you hold the pen at 90 degrees, the scratchiness and noise disappear. Weird huh. They write smoothly, no blobs or leaking. I don't like the 'calligraphy' nib that is just thick and not like a normal calligraphy nib, it too writes better upright, but I prefer the German nib out of the three. All in all, for £7, a bargain. A cute little dragon pen to bring luck into 2024, and I will have it on my desk and use it daily and it is a cheerful looking thing. If you can't adjust your writing angle, you might find it scratchy and noisy, if you can comfortably hold it upright, it is a nice writing tool.
