how much top clearance would this provide a 6378 ALS from a military/tactical ballistic vest, one that's bulkier than a duty vest. anyone?

I wear an AR500 tactical vest occasionally at work, and I have absolutely no problems drawing my weapon. I assumed I would need a chest mount for my weapon when using the tac vest, but since I mounted my holster to this drop platform I have no problems. I initially purchased it because I have long arms and was struggling with my draw. I highly recommend this item.

Will this adapter fit a left handed holster?

The base plate is universal, it attaches via the three holes, side doesn't matter.

With the gun holstered, how high does the pistol grip come in relation to the belt? Is the grip even with the top of the belt? Lower? higher?

For references point I carry an XDM 4.5inch and the grip sits level with the bottom of the belt. May depend on if you have a full size or a compact.
