Yes, it works!
I never thought I'd spend $50 on a dog bowl, let alone feel compelled to write about it. But here we are. If you're tired of dealing with endless puddles created by your dog's enthusiastic drinking habits, this bowl is a game-changer.We've always had a few drops here and there from our dogs drinking, nothing a simple mat couldn't handle. Then our golden retriever joined the family, and those drops became puddles and rivers throughout the house. I couldn't figure out how trails of water were appearing 30 feet from the bowl until I watched her drink one day. She lifted her head, and I swear there were actual streams of water cascading from her muzzle for a solid three seconds. We tried a bowl with a floating top to limit water access, but within days, she outsmarted us and figured out how to submerge her entire face anyway.Enter the Slobber Stopper, an intriguing feat of engineering. Yes, it requires a bit more effort than just filling a regular bowl. There's a stopper you insert when attaching the lid, creating a vacuum that controls water availability. Will we inevitably lose this crucial piece someday? Probably. But for now, we're enjoying our puddle-free existence, so it's worth the extra effort. The bowl insert is sized, so be sure to order the right one for your dog. We have two different-sized dogs, so we opted for the larger size to accommodate both, and it's working well for each of them. As a bonus, the bowl holds about a gallon, so I usually only need to fill it once a day.If you're tired of feeling like you live in an indoor water park courtesy of your furry friend, the Slobber Stopper might be the solution you never knew you needed. It's not perfect, but it's certainly made our floors a lot drier and our lives a little easier.

Clever design!
Our puppy's breeder recommended this water bowl and we are not disappointed. It is perfect for our Australian Labradoodle and eliminates the drippy, wet mess that occurs with other bowls. Yes, it is expensive compared to other water bowls. In my opinion, it is worth it! Our puppy is only around 8 lbs. now, but has been using the medium size bowl without a problem. Since this is designed for 21-50 lbs., I'm happy that he should continue to be able to use this bowl as he grows.

Love this bowl
I have 1940 wooden floors that have lost their finish. My newfie was dropping lots and lots of water on the floors after drinking from a regular water bowl (he puts his entire face up to his eyes in the water bowl) . I constantly had towels on the floor (like you would a carpet runner) it looked terrible. The towels would get wet, so then there was wet towels laying on the floor. I was at my wits end, and so worried about having to replace the floors because of the water. And the water was not just where the bowl was, it was all over the house. I bought the Slopper Stopper figuring if it didn't work I would send it back. I was also hesitant about the price. I've had it maybe 3 months now and I can't believe how well it works. I don't need towels to line the floors all over the house anymore. It actually works.........and for that reason I'd say it is definitely worth the money.A word about customer service: When I received my order it came with a Large top instead of a Mammoth top. I was pretty sure that I ordered the largest since my dog is now near 150 lbs. It was a weekend, so I called and left a message. Before Monday the owner sent me a text about my call and then he called me Monday as well. He sent me a new lid the size that I wanted and did not require me to send back other lid even though I offered. He was very personable and I enjoyed speaking with him. He really goes above and beyond to make sure that his customers are taken care of.Pros:My dog drank from the bowl immediately with any hesitationNow more dripping water all over the houseThe bowl holds a lot of water and only needs to be changed ever 2-3 of daysIt's easy to clean, stainless steel and heavy duty plastic topFeels solid and good qualitySoap and water clean up is easyCons:The cons are minimal but I'll mention them. The plug that is used to create the water pressure when refilling the bowl is also good quality, but hard to get a hold of if you don't have strong fingers, or a good grip. Perhaps there could be a little more to grab hold of. But I still get it to work just fine. FYI, you do not have to push the stopped far into the whole just create a seal when adding the top to a full bowl of water. The only other thing is that my dog slobbers so much and sometimes leave pieces of food in the water bowl that the water usually reaches contamination when there's about 1-2 inches of water left in the bowl. For that reason I feel like sometimes I'm wasting water (but I usually use it to water plants). If your dog is not a massive slobber-er you probably will not have this problem. It's not that big of a deal.I love this thing. It has been a life saver. I'm so glad that I took a chance on this purchase.

Helps tremendously!
Our lab would leave at least a measuring cup worth of water on the floor every time he even took one sip of water. This has eliminated 90% of the water on the floor. The dogs are not really excited to be restricted by the speed they can gulp water, but that's kind of the point. Sure, they take longer at the bowl, but they can drink to their hearts' content and we no longer have to have a towel or mop ready to soak up the water. For refilling, we don't worry too much about the procedure and initial level of water in the opening. It might be too much water in the opening at first, but the dogs drink it down to the designed water level in no time. My only difficulty is the seal of the lid to the bowl. It definitely seals well, as it needs to keep the vacuum so that the bowl does its job, but sheesh, it's hard to get the lid off! I'm sure it will get better over time, and the bowl is working really well!My last gripe is the price. I would have purchased this long ago, but I couldn't justify the price. I'd even get more of them for different locations, but no way is it worth the price. I had a hard enough time justifying the purchase of just one bowl. I'd recommend this to friends and family, but again... the price is ridiculously high. I think the seller would make a lot more money on these by selling so many more of them with a lower price.
