Holmes Stereoscope Viewer KIT for Stereocards (stereoviews) - Leather Hood - Folding Handle - Made in US

If you have ANY woodworking skills at all, get the kit. Only takes a short time to stain, finish and assemble. Much cheaper than a real antique on eBay. Instructions are close but not exact as apparently the model has changed some since they did the instructions. Lenses are plastic (real antique would be glass), so you will have to be careful not to scratch them when cleaning (use Dust-Off or light brush, avoid rubbing with anything). I stained the wood with MinWax ebony and then walnut to get the dark warm color I wanted. We use it at a local museum to the delight of visitors. Best if you don't remove your glasses when using (plenty of room), then focus should work for most people. Easy to make your own cards if you have one as a model (needs two images taken a few inches apart). Only four stars because I think it should cost $40 not $60. Otherwise works as advertised.

Product arrived promptly. Directions were user friendly, and it was easy to assemble. I am pleased with all aspects.

Very disappointed in this product. Looked like a child's craft project but with an expensive price tag. Was so disappointed I went and bought an original from an antique dealer.

This is made of high quality material. The assembly instructions are very clear and easy to follow.I would recommend this kit to a friend.

Now, iI only had some stereocards to view, I would be happy.
