Works perfectly. Did not connect teo power sources.
Works exactly as described. Some find the dual power option confusing. I only used the provided power brick to power the hub . I powered my M4 Mac book pro directly using the Apple power brick and special power cable. I filled all the slots and filled one USB C slot with another usb C unpowered hub. Working perfectly. No heat all good.

A Solid, Quality USB-C Hub, with a few Quirks, but Still Recommended!
Glad I was able to find a powered USB-C hub with a reasonable number of USB-A and USB-C ports, including some that are for charging, and not just data transfer. Can't attest to the speed of the faster 10GB/sec claims of the thunderbolt-rated ports (because I don't have anything relying upon that speed currently connected), but I can say the 5GB/sec are fast and every port snugly accepts each plug, and it seems solid and reliable. We have many of the ports being used, and it's barely perceptible as being warm to the touch. The connections seem solid, for each and every port being used, and the charging ports register immediately, without delay, and no problem with of our devices immediately being recognized. It is a bit strange (although the descriptions clearly acknowledge this) that, in order to charge a laptop, you not only have to use the plug-in power adapter, but you also must use a PD-IN USB-C plug connected to a separate power source. Honestly, I had a hard time figuring out how that function would work, based solely on the online descriptions, but some research and review of other customers' experiences helped tremendously to clearly outline how this additional charging feature works.I do wish the ports were along the edges, instead of across the top face of the unit, which causes all your plugs to stand straight up if it is flat on a desktop surface. It is also odd that the power adapter port and the USB-C connector (I'm using mine with my desktop iMac) are at opposite ends. As others have stated, this makes for difficult and inconvenient cable management. However, I knew that going in, and while it does make it awkward to place easily, it was an acceptable trade-off for the quality and features offered. One note, I originally was excited about a SDXC port for my digital camera data cards, but as described by other reviewers, the transfer rates seem to be equivalent to UHC-1, and nowhere near the more current, must faster UHC-2 and UHC-3 standards. But it works, so as long as you don't expect it to do higher-speed transfers, you should be pleased with that feature (I went with a separate purchase of a must faster SDXC card reader).Overall, a solid, reliable, quality USB hub, at a reasonable price. Recommended!

A solid choice
Very versatile and convenient. I usually write more for a review but this hub doesn’t really need an elaborate one. It’s solid, it works great. It’s a good price. All done!

Odd cord placement
The product is fine and does everything it says it does, but I cannot for the life of me understand why they chose to have cables coming out of both ends of this thing. It makes it very difficult to find a place on the desk that makes sense. Its own power cord gets in the way when you try to place it on a desk. Pretty confusing design choice.

This is really an excellent hub -- but I want one with a different power source
When I purchased this I failed to pay attention to the power source of this hub. I don't want one with its own power adapter. For people for whom that's not important, this is an excellent unit. The ports are all easily accessible and the USB cable to connect to a computer has an attached adapter so it can be used with USB-C or USB-A ports on a computer. So it didn't fit my needs (I want to use a 100-watt power supply that I normally use for my laptop to provide the power for the hub and then use the PD port on the hub to power the computer) but for many people this will be the ideal USB-C hub to expand the USB ports for their computers. The Anker brand-name has always represented quality to me and this is no exception!

Works well with M4-MacMini.
Bought this hub to use in my recording studio with my M4-MacMini. It is powered so I can plug in my devices that need power and don't have to use a power supply for those devices. Compatibility is good and the build quality appears to be good as well. It has four USB-C and four USB-A ports in addition to the regular SD and micro SD slots that are a great compliment to the M4-MacMini since there are no SD slots on it.

Dead on arrival and lack of connectivity
Dead on arrival. Included power adapter didn’t work at all. There is no input for Monitor. You need to buy HDMI to USB C adapter as well. Was so excited to get it but power didn’t work then connectivity with Monitor issue. I don’t recommend this.

Good as a hub, not so good as a card reader.
This hub seems to charge much better and transfer faster than a cheaper hub I got this to replace it. Though, still I'm getting only 40MB/s from an NVMe enclosure, but I think it's the enclosure. The card reader is lackluster though. I was hoping to be able to also replace my SanDisk SD card reader but that's not the case. I can get about 260MB/s copying from my camera's SD cards with the SanDisk reader. This hub tops out at 90MB/s with nothing plugged into it. However, if I plug the SanDisk card reader into this hub, I do get the 260MB/s rate, so it's not the cable/controller in the USB portion, it just doesn't have that great of a card reader. Also, another annoyance about this product is that it has cords coming out on both sides, which makes for more clutter on a desktop. If nothing else, they could have had the USB connection come out of the side closer to the power supply area, and that way the cable routing would be somewhat better.
