This vacuum is basically a member of the family
I LOVE this vacuum. After decades of throwing away other vacuums that would only last a few months before they started losing suction and blowing out smelly air (despite replacing filters and cleaning regularly), I decided to purchase a Dyson. I do not regret my decision one bit! The V8 is so lightweight and easy to maneuver. While the dust collection cup is small, it’s easy to empty and works fine in my small home. So versatile and goes from carpet to hardwood to tile seamlessly with no adjustments necessary. Super durable. I have long hair, a toddler, and a 75 lb dog and a cat and this vacuum handles it all with ease. It picks up dust and dirt, hair, food crumbs, cat litter, leaves… the list goes on. I love the charging rack that holds all the accessories and vacuum. Looks nice in the laundry room. Easy to change out accessories and I’ve used it to vacuum furniture and remove cobwebs from the ceiling and crumbs from my daughter’s car seat and high chair. It’s never clogged or lost suction. The max power option is nice to get dirt from deep in the carpet. Charge lasts a long time. I love that parts can be replaced if they ever stop working, rather than replacing the whole vacuum.

Excellent!
I couldn't be happier with my choice! From the moment I took it out of the box, it was clear that this vacuum was built well. It has a sleek design that's easy to maneuver, and it's surprisingly lightweight, which makes cleaning much less of a chore. The suction power is impressive — it picked up dirt and pet hair from both carpets and hard floors with ease. I was particularly amazed at how thoroughly it deep-cleaned my rugs, leaving them looking fresh and new. The multi-surface feature is a game-changer, allowing me to transition seamlessly between different floor types without any adjustments.Another standout feature is the HEPA filtration system, which has made a noticeable difference in air quality in my home. As someone with allergies, this vacuum has been a breath of fresh air (literally!), and I appreciate that it traps allergens and dust effectively. The attachments included are also really helpful. The dusting brush is perfect for reaching those tricky spots, and the crevice tool makes it easy to clean between furniture. Plus, the long cord means I can cover a large area without constantly changing outlets.I only wished the battery lasted longer. Highly recommended!

Love this model of stick Dyson vacuum!
I bought this one as a gift but knew it would be good because I have one in my home and love using it. The reason I love this model more than some of the other more expensive Dyson stick models is the ease in emptying the reservoir with the vacuum stick still on it. You just hold it over the garbage can, pull up the top lever, then the bottom cover opens and the dirt falls into the can. Shake a little to make sure it emptied, push shut the top lever, push up the bottom cover and you are ready to vacuum some more. So easy!I have used a Dyson 11 stick model: it’s bigger, heavier, probably would run longer with a bigger battery but you have to do the extra step of removing the implement before emptying the dirt. And then you have to line it up straight to get it back on again. Nope, I love my model 8 much better!!!

Be prepared to modify
I purchased this vacuum for my hair salon. I was looking for a cordless option, lightweight, and very powerful.I've had this vacuum for just over a month and here's the pros and cons.Pros.It REALLY sucks. It has a great suction to it, making vacuuming up rouge hair and dirt almost addictive. I like how it comes apart to empty the dust collection, and I really think it's designed to be lightweight- although I'll come back to that in the cons.I love the option to hang it on the wall for storage and charging(this is NOT a free standing vacuum)- will circle back to that in the cons as well!.It comes with 3 different attachment that are easy to change. They are on the smaller side, but honestly I like them for vacuuming out the furnace vent cover, or getting hair out of the salon chairs/dryer chairs.I also like to use it for a quick vacuum in the vehicles when they are looking gross. Now for the Cons. The biggest, most frustrating part of this vacuum is the dang battery life. Upon initial purchase, I fully charged the vacuum. I was very patient with making sure it was charged so I could get an idea of battery life.Boy was I so disappointed. The battery barely lasted for 1/4th of the salon. And I'm not vacuuming up piles of hair. This is for once a week use, maybe touchup on the waiting area use. I'm not dilly dallying around vacuuming. Ixm there to clean and move on woth my lifemThe original battery is terrible.Fortunately they make battery adapters for RIDGED and Ryobi batteries. I purchased one for the RIDGED off of Ebay. With that i still have to use a HuGE battery for it, which adds to the weight, and now with the new battery adaptor it will not hang on the cute charging/storage hanger. The trigger is also one that has to be manually held, so their is some fatigue after doing the entire salon. With all of this being said, I do love it (with the adapter and large battery) for the salon. It does a great job, but please be ready to make some modifications if you do decide to purchase this vacuum.
