Keychron V1 Max QMK Wireless Mechanical Keyboard, 75% Layout Custom Knob

The switches feel amazing. The build quality of the keyboard is up to par, and I would recommend this purchase to anyone who wants some banana switches. I would like the lighting to be on the letters too, but it doesn't come on this model. Connectivity is simple and easy, and the keyboard layout is the standard 75%.

Honestly a surprisingly good cheap board. The accessories in the box, high quality cable, SUPER lightweight yet not a cheap feeling board by any means, the switches feel amazing. Smooth and buttery with a chime to them. No rattle. It's a properly built board no doubt. I have 500-1000 dollar boards and I can honestly say I would rather type on this. Many functions with the board was a nice feature. Keycaps aren't horrible. I think the font is a little goofy on some keys like Comic sans, even though it's not. But I probably wont replace them. It's an extremely nice board and I suggest buying it to try it. At this price point you can't go wrong. It's a LITTLE noisey with these switches but I'm not bottoming out and it's not LOUD by anymeans. Just a little noisey.

Worked really well for the first month but after that it C S and Space keys all started double clicking very often. Also the top left presses down a lot more compared to the rest of the keyboard. Dont recommend

Sounds very satisfying. I got the yellow banana switches. I love that they include tools to break it down as needed. I like wired connection and I use this with a powered usb hub for steam deck. Led patterns are easy to play with with adjustable brightness. These are downward facing leds so if you want something brighter, keep that in mind. Excellent price, fast delivery, typing is a dream on this keyboard. 5/5 would recommend and buy again as needed. Looking into keycaps to customize it more.

Wow! When I first received it I thought, I'll send this back. Luckily I gave it a try. It is fantastic. For anyone who hates the flat panel keyboards on laptops (mac's etc.) this is a heaven sent. It took me about 30 minutes to get used to typing on it but once I adjusted I found myself typing more accurately and faster than I could on my mac keybaord. It is very much like an old IBM Selectric Keyboard. I have mine wired directly to my mac. You can also use bluetooth. There is a switch to set it up for Mac and additional keys caps to adjust it to other configurations. One of the best things I've purchased for productivity in a long long time.

Was excited to receive this keyboard, but left disappointed. Space bar sticking and slow to spring back up due to too much lube applied on stabilizers. Toggle switch to switch between Mac and Windows layout doesn’t work. Signs point to having received a defective item

I’ve always liked keychron. My first ever mechanical keyboard was a K2, and used it till it died. I’ve used boards from Corsair, HyperX, Razer, and I’ve built a few customs. At $100 for a fully assembled board, it’s a compelling buy and, in my opinion, beats out anything you could walk into a Best Buy to get. It’s gasket mounted, which is a welcome change from the stiffer tray mounts in the V1, though I do miss the weight added by the heavier plate. I’m hoping keychron adds different plates for this soon, since I’ve kind of fallen out of love with polycarbonate plates like this one. The board is very light, due mainly to the all-plastic construction, and exhibits some flex, but that’s to be expected. An FR4 or aluminum plate would add some welcome heft. Stock, the board has a decent amount of gasket flex and the banana switches are a nice, if uninspiring switch with a nice tactile bump right at the top. Still better than the godawful Gateron browns that commonly get used in boards like this. I appreciate that they’re lighter than a traditional “Holy Panda” switch which I find a tad heavy. Not sure if they’re factory lubed, but mine exhibit some noticeable ping, but only if I’m really listening for it. The typing experience is excellent… that’s it. Not even a “given the price” caveat. This thing types better than just about anything you’ll get at Best Buy, and is very competitive with similarly priced and spaced boards from companies like Womier, Feker, and others. My one paint point: the stabilizers. They’re fine, but they rattle and, even after lubing and modding are still not amazing. Not something I can get too mad about given the price, but… Connectivity is great: 3 Bluetooth devices (albeit at higher latency and low polling rates), 2.4 ghz wireless with both USB-A and USB-C dongles (which are secured in the board with magnets - Logitech should take a note, since I’ve already lost the dongle on my MX-Mechanical Mini twice), or good ol’ wired. The bottom case foam is thinner than I’d expected and doesn’t provide as much “THOCK” as the silicone pads from the regular V-series, but the sounds is more textured and marble-y, with a nice pop. Tl;dr - good connectivity, great typing experience, good switches, very modable. Decent sound, a little lightweight, currently no alternative plate options.

I initially kind of hated this keyboard because it really isn't much like the old 1980s/1990s mechanical keyboards that had loud click switches and thin, plastic housing with no dampening materials. Those things were kind of cool but would wake the dead and honestly often had fairly trash build quality. Even the Model M, at least the space saver Model M2 was pretty flexy. This thing has more of a deep, resonant tone and sounds a bit like a louder version of linear switches. Makes me think a bit of an Apple IIC or Cherry space saver. Feel with the gateron jupiters is much better though. So easy to type super fast on these and make very few mistakes. Would highly recommend this version of the space saver layout too for general, casual computing. IT's quite compact so it doesn't take up much space on a common desk, but it also isn't overly cramped or missing common keys like the function keys and page/home keys and arrows keys. Anyway, the main issue in keyboard space is how wide it is, so taking off the Fn keys and going super mini doesn't practically save space. As a summarization, this probably is not the best keyboard in the world but it's probably a matter of diminishing returns past this point and is fantastic for word processing and other keyboard-oriented computing tasks.

I purchased this Keychron V1 Max Wireless Mechanical Keyboard from Amazon.ca in November 2025. After several months of normal use, the A key developed a key chatter issue. When I press the A key once, it sometimes types “aa”. To troubleshoot the issue, I swapped the A switch with another key switch. After swapping, the problem followed the original A switch to the other key position, while the A key worked normally with the other switch. Based on this test, it seems the switch itself is defective rather than the keyboard PCB or software. I contacted Keychron support and provided the order information and troubleshooting details, but I have not received any response so far. This is disappointing, especially because the issue appears to be caused by a single defective switch. The keyboard itself feels good when it works, but the key chatter issue and lack of support make it hard for me to recommend this product. I expected better quality control and customer service from Keychron.

I love the key sound of this and experience of using it with Windows. I will try this with a mac and will share the experience. However, I had started to experience ghosting on some keys after just 3 months which has stopped for now but is certainly a concern for me. I will keep this comment updated if the issue reoccurs in the future within the warranty period

be careful, customer support is basically non-existent. i've found out from some google/reddit browsing that keychron's had issues with their PCBs, unfortunately, i got a board with a faulty PCB. problems surfaced about a month in, so after the amazon exchange/return window.
