Worked better than the original, the original part broke! Don't waste your money on high priced dealer prices. Super easy to install, you only need to buy a cheap triple square spline bit (less than $10) on Amazon for the 2 slots holding it in.

This trunk latch works great, it is 10 times cheaper than the dealership one and helps you save money. Especially if you have a German car, the replacement parts can get expensive and make you struggle. So don't get frustrated, buy it here on Amazon for a great price and part.

I purchased this for my 2012 VW Beetle. My hatchback latch wasn't closing consistently and was making a "machine gun" fast stuttering sound when I activated it. This item completely fixed the issue. It works perfectly and was at an excellent price. Once I gained access to it, it took 5-10 minutes to swap out the new one for the old one. The only real challenge to this job was getting all of the hatch interior trim placed back properly.
