Want to get your knives "scary sharp"? This will do it.
If you want to get your knives incredible sharp, this is for you. I always maintain my knifes, but rarely do I get them shaving sharp, yet this hone will do so effortlessly. It's not a first-step kind of hone, but more of a "wow, I got this pretty sharp, let's see how much sharper I can get it!" kind of hone. It's the last step I take when really sitting down to sharpen a knife. Works great on everything, even razor blades... Ever wanted to re-sharpen razor blades? Nah, me either, but this hone will help you do it, an incredibly useful tool to have for when you can't seem to find that 100-pack you just bought.Don't discount this, it only takes a few swipes, and I do it under a very small stream of running water. Takes a knife that's been used to open a couple boxes back to shaving sharp. But, do be careful with your new found power... Ensure you warn people that your knife is "very very sharp" before you hand it to them, otherwise you'll be finding your first aid kit pretty soon.I would definitely buy this again if I lose it, and it's on my list of things to give to people as a gift after they complain about a full knife.

great product.
I bought one of these 9 years ago I just got rid of it cuz it was worn out. Well worth the money. I install ceilings and ceiling tile and I use it to sharpen up my blade as a tile dulls your blade within a while. I use the hell out of this thing, great product.

Four Stars
Nice little diamond hone. Cuts quickly, handle is secure. A serviceable sharpener.

Don't Understand the Positive Reviews
Bought this to replace my several years worn EZE Lap, along with a new EZE both 1200 grit. On appearance, the EZE Lap had a densely crystaled cutting surface while the DMT looked like smooth metal with a sprinkling of dust. After a few minutes fine honing FLAT cutting edge micro tools, the DMT appeared to have lost a visually noticeable amount of grit, further evidenced by a quick rinse & dry then running a fingernail over the used and unused portions of the cutting surface to compare. Already compromised, doubt if the DMT will last for a few more brief uses before being worn too smooth to function properly.

Smooth and easy, yeah
Used it to bring up the edge on a rather dull knife. Did the job with ease as you just let the hone do the work.

Not an EZE Lap
This is not a pro level tool -- a rather poor copy of the Eze-Lap diamond files. There's a goofy plastic detent that obstructs the long edge ( I should have noticed that feature). but worse the edges have a radius making the file almost useless for sharping small diameter bits. You can do better I recommend spending a few more $$ to get a tool that has been engineered.
