Making the switch to a coffee alternative has been difficult. I’ve tried so many that fell short on taste, smell and nutrients. After researching other possibilities, I came upon date seed coffee. There were no reviews so I took a chance and am so glad I did. I bought an Aeropress and used two microfilters for a super fine filtering. I used the 20 g of date seed coffee recommended, added a small amount of boiling water, let it bloom for thirty seconds before stirring and adding the rest of the boiling water. I then let it sit for 2-3 minutes, then pressed. I made a perfect two shots of espresso and my taste buds could not tell a difference at all from real coffee bean espresso! I have adrenal problems and am insulin sensitive with subsequent digestive problems so real coffee causes a cascade of problems for me. I needed to get rid of coffee altogether. Other alternatives such as roasted chicory, dandelion, cause digestive sensitivity and just do not have the smell and taste of a dark roast or full bodied espresso roast. This product does! I’m so grateful to God for dates and that date seeds exist , with the health benefits and none of the problems with real coffee beans i can safely enjoy my date seed espresso and sacrifice nothing. I’m grateful to Bal Coffee for creating this product and the espresso roast is pure perfection. I love that the seeds have a purpose, there is no waste in date production, and that they use organic date seeds. I used my leftover grounds to mix in my houseplants for extra nutrients in the soil and am going to keep some of the grounds moving forward in a glass jar with olive oil to make a natural and gentle body scrub next! Tastes like an okay substitute for coffee when made as a latte with an espresso machine. Just tried as drip/pour over and drinking it plain and it's really not great. But I am thankful to have a similar substitute, since I can't drink coffee.

I love this product. For a while, I have been searching for healthier alternatives to regular coffee. What I appreciate about this product is that it tastes exactly like regular coffee, but without the caffeine and the usual issues associated with coffee

As a coffee lover who drinks a lot daily, I’ve tried many alternatives over the years, but nothing quite compares to Bal Coffee. It has a smooth, chocolatey flavor that’s surprisingly similar to regular coffee, but without the jittery feeling that caffeine used to give me. I’ve switched to Bal Coffee entirely in the evenings and at night because I’ve found it not only tastes great but also has some real benefits. Fantastic coffee substitute. I brew by using a tea filter bag and microwave in 8 oz water in a large coffee cup for 2 min, then let it steep for another 2 min. I then muddle the bag to press as much flavor out of it. It is less expensive than a popular instant Cocoa Blend Flavor Coffee Substitute, that I have not been able to find at grocery stores any longer.

BAL groundate coffee is an interesting drink. It isn't coffee for sure, others claim it is more tea like. I agree that when brewed it is more tea in color. However, the flavor is coffee adjacent with some spice notes (cardamom maybe?). It isn't bad... just not what I expected. The 2 stars off is for the price per amount. Made a normal pot of coffee which means I've used over half the bag. So 10 bucks a pot isn't a good value. Worth a try... just wish it was cheaper.

I brewed this ground date seed beverage as instructed on the package, but weighing 20 grams into a reusable Keurig pod. The measured amount filled up the pod so next time I could just fill it instead of using a scale, but I'm a geek. It brewed like normal coffee through the Keurig and although my spouse recently complained about using regular coffee in the pod I used, the water flowed through this ground alternative just fine and made a darkish brew but not quite as dark as regular coffee. I added a bit of 1/2 and 1/2 and a dash of ground cardamom. You are not going to trick anyone into thinking this is coffee, but it's a nice drink. More smooth and bitter than things like chicory, which I've also tried as a coffee alternative. I think it would be interesting to try this 50/50 with regular coffee for a version of half caff. I see in the listing that they have photos of pour over, but I don't have equipment for that. I do, however, have an Aeropress and a French press and will try it in both of those and see how it does.

as a person who drinks coffee daily in the morning, I wanted to try something new. And Yes, for my pleasant surprise I found the Coffee made from Dates Seeds is exactly what I'm looking for; it has very unique taste, not too heavy and caffeine free which what the doctor asked:)
