Love this book. Great recipes using regular ingredients. It also has really useful info and tips for baking.

Received as a Christmas gift and already made two of the recipes for Christmas. Both delicious! Each recipe has a picture of the cake with very clear instructions. There are both simple and more complex recipes for the beginner and expert.

So far I tried a few recipes and all were good. Great directions and pictures. If you baked a cake from.scratch before or not you will get good results

Love, love, love this book. Initially I seen it at my local library and checked it out. It is filled with so much information, recipes, testing and baking advice -I knew I had to have this as my own. I ordered it a.s.a.p ! Highly recommended, 5☆'s

Easy to understand and the two cakes we've made have been very, very good! Try the Hummingbird Cake. I had never heard of this cake but the ingredients worked well together and the icing was amazing! This is coming from a guy who only eats chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate. The Hummingbird Cake had no chocolate and it was still delicious.

Being a novice cake baker, this book offers some great first-timer advice and clearly explains the whys and hows of baking methods like creaming and reverse creaming. So far, the chocolate cake and fluffy yellow cake I’ve made came out to fantastic family reviews. One issue I have is that the authors are pro measuring dry ingredients with a scale instead of by measuring cup. While I agree with that, the challenge they present is that only the ingredient list shows the cups/oz measurements and sometimes that amount is needed in separate parts in the recipe. For example, listing 1 3/4 cups (12 1/4 ounces) sugar total, but needing 1 1/2 cups in one bowl and 1/4 cup in the whipped egg whites. The recipe text does not explain how many ounces each of those are and I was left doing a lot of math to figure it out.

I bought this with a kitchen aid stand mixer for my daughter but she was away in August so we just used the stand mixer the other bday do we have yet made any recipes but man do the recipes look amazing and let me tell you this is a great book. It is very informative and the quality is impeccable. I highly recommend this book!!!

I absolutely love, love this book; every recipe, every picture, especially where ATK explains why a recipe works.

Je suis une canadienne vivant à Paris et les amies de ma fille me demandent souvent de préparer des gâteaux "américains". À tous ceux et celles qui veulent préparer ce type de gâteaux, je recommande ce livre. America's test kitchen en gage de qualité en Amérique du Nord. Leurs recettes sont inratables. Évidemment, il faut parler anglais, mais vous ne regretterez pas cet achat. Les photos sont magnifiques aussi.

Recipes are good but have American Measirements

These cookbooks are excellent. Pictures are lovely and directions clear.
