Does this radio have a cigarette plug, or does it need to be hardwired into the vehicle's electrical system?

It only come's with a power cord that connects to the radio. you can get a cigarette adapter at a radio shack store. they are easy to put on. remember to watch the polarity! Hope this helps.

Can this CB be used in home with a power supply?

My desk transformer is exactly 12V DC, but the specs say 13.8 DC, will my power supply work for this so I can have a CB in my garage????

No this one does not..the cobra 29 nightwatch the letters around the knobs glow. The channel display and the meter is only thing light up on this radio.
