It works!
So bought this product back in May and it took a few weeks to catch any moths as I think I missed the first wave of the year as I already had an infestation of caterpillars, but since then it's been very good in catching the moths. I'd highly recommend but be patient,it will work.

Works
Box moth is becoming a real problem now. This product really does work. You have to be vigilant to the moth's arrival on your shrubs. Once you see the moths in the traps, you will need to use the Xen Tari spray to kill the caterpillars. If only our native birds would have an appetite for them. I have found that by using both the traps and the spray over the season I can protect the shrubs we have. However, it is not easy and we are looking at alternatives to box.

It does work
Update 6th July - It works after all. 4 box tree caterpillar moths caught in June. That's got to help. So far it has only managed to catch half a dozen small flies! I put it upon mid-March, but no sign of any moths. I have, however, spent a very un-enjoyable 4 days hand-picking 2,500+ caterpillars off of my box bushes and hedges! Maybe they were last seasons eggs and there have been no moths produced yet? I've put a new batch of pheromone in. Let's see if any moths get caught in the next 3 months. BTW - I can thoroughly recommend XenTari spray to kill the caterpillars. After 1 day, they are a bit dopey. After 2 days they are either dead of clearly unwell. After 3 days, all perished!

Must have if you have Buxus.
After nearly losing all my expensive buxus the year before to these little buggers I splashed out on this trap along with the spray. Placed it out at the beginning of August and on the first night has one box tree moth trapped. Nothing more for about a week and then bingo 12 more one night and then 15 a few nights later and since then has not stopped catching loads more as we are now just going into October. If you have Buxus then this trap is a must. It takes one load of caterpillars and you could lose your prided plants.

Pointless
It hasn’t caught a single box moth, despite being surrounded by them flying around the area! If anything….all it has done is attracted them to the area I which my box hedge is, literally watching them fly in and land straight in the hedge.

Seems to work - so a good "early warning sign"
Easy to assemble and hang in the garden. Put the trap up at the end of April after the first wave this year and now (June 21) we've got our first captives for the second wave. So they're on the hunt again now, as expected. At least now I get an early warning that the critters are on the wing...time to treat the hedging at the weekend I think.

Does the job
I put this up to keep Box tree moths away from a well established box hedge. The moth is a non-native and causes a huge amount of damage to Buxus species so I don't mind 'redirecting them' into this trap. It worked. It caught 17 moths in a period of two weeks and my box hedge remains healthy. Very easy to assemble and comes with enough pheromone for 6 months. Just wondering now if I can buy replacement pheromone for next year rather than buy the whole unit all over again (these aren't particularly cheap!)

Does the job
Whilst I am aware we can't eradicate the box moth, this trap is certainly doing its job. Worth getting neighbours with box to invest too. I was concerned when the white blob appeared to disappear and got in touch with the manufacturer. They assure me that's just the "goo" to stick the pheromone in. And I realised there's a sticky pad left inside. Moths are still being caught, so it's still effective. I had sprayed the hedges thoroughly twice, a fortnight apart with a spray from the garden centre. This, and a bit of caterpillar "squishing", appears to have done the trick and new growth is coming in quite rapidly it's August now). Other neighbours lost theirs as they didn't spot the caterpillars early enough. There is hope!!
