my daughter is more into her colouring now, and has begun practicing with shading and blending so i bought her a better quality set of pencils. told her i would get her a nice pencil sharpener to which she responded 'my teacher has an electric one'. now, not wanting to be outdone i immediately took to Amazon to research electric sharpeners. this seemed a very reasonably priced one. I popped 2 AA batteries into its base and it was primed to sharpen pencils. and let me say, this unit sharpens them quickly! i didnt experience the 'auto cut off' it mentions (i took this as it turning off once the pencil is sharp but that didnt seem to be the case) although this is not a feature i bought it for, i just had visions of my 9 year old getting carried away and sharpening her expensive colours down to an inch of their lives! comes with a spare blade which is a nice feature, as is the locking lid to avoid the shavings cup ending up all over the floor. you need a little bit of grip to stop the pencil rotating while it is sharpening, but after a couple of tries my 9 year old managed just fine. handy little unit to have on the table while colouring to make sure you are always primed to go!

I really like this sharpener, its easy to use, compact, comes with a spare blade. It can also be used manually which is a benefit. Pencils over 8mm in diameter will not fit, but then I only have one!The best thing is I have yet to break a tip off during sharpening because its 'stop start' operation makes it hard to over sharpen.I like it, and it is not over priced.

I initially was happy with this product however after a short space of time it had stopped working. It stops and starts and jams. I tried changing the batteries and changed the sharpening blade but no use. The power was initially good and the blade gave a good sharp point. A nice tidy size in the stationery cupboard.

I keep this pencil sharpener on my desk at all times. It is so easy to use. you can use it automatically or you can lock it and use it manually. I just like the fact you can hold it in one hand push your pencil it and its sharpened in seconds. when I use an ordinary sharpener I can sometimes end up with blisters if I sharpen a few pencils at a time. Its a nice size, not too big or too small and looks neat

Purchased for someone else but did get to use it once. Battery operated, 2 x AA batteries. Push the pencil down and the single blade sharpener revolves around it. Performed well and gave a very nice sharp pencil. Comes with a spare blade. Unsure as to how long the batteries will last as it was brand new. Same with regards to the blade.
