The best tool you don’t need.
I don’t need this.It was an impulse buy that turned out to be handy. It was a waste of weight in my pack. The value for it though was cheap enough to justify its purchase. It is well made and holds probably 100 feet of thread. It’s designed well.If you need it, it’s worth it.I didn’t, but I appreciate it’s use case.

TricornE-Spool Tool
This device is a huge improvement over the original designs of paracord spools. It has a clip for a mini Bic lighter, a replaceable cutting blade (standard utility blade), and various notches to secure the ends of different diameter cordage. It also has a convenient lanyard hole which can be used to hang the tool up or to attach to your ruck sack. The fit and finish are excellent, and the high impact plastic is durable to last a lifetime (which in the bush craft community is 5 years or less). All in all, an outstanding product.

Great tool, worth the price.
This is an excellent tool; instead of having to root about in my pack for a knife, lighter and cord, it's all together on one easy to grab tool. It also means you can hand off the cordage for someone else to use and not lose your lighter or cutting tool (assuming you carry more than one). It's sturdy, durable polymer, not a flimsy plastic: I couldn't get it to flex in my hands. The blade is replaceable and it has a hole on one side for a carabiner or other clip of some kind. The slots on the other side accommodate 4 different cord sizes and can be used to seal the ends of paracord: simply fit the cord into the slot, melt with a lighter and then pull the cord straight out through the hole. That will give a nice, even seal around the cord. The variety of colors is nice. I ordered the Blue and it's quite bright: definitely not something you'd lose in the woods. Some of the colors seem to be out of stock often though, like the Blaze Orange. If you're looking for a specific color, buy it when it's available: if you wait it might not be there. I only bought the blue because the orange was out of stock when I went to order. Some might consider the price too high given the plethora of cheap spools available, but none of the others have all the features this one has. It's a great tool for the money and I expect to order a few more before long.Update: as expected I like enough to order another in January 2017, orange this time. The blue one stays at home while the orange one now lives in the pack.

Smart design
Everything is designed as described, except the normal paracord will not fit into those notches as explained. Will work well with the smaller cordage. I trimmed two slots a little to make the 550 fit and left the others small in case I wanted to go with something smallerAll in all, a very cool design that really improves storage and saves space. I will be ordering more soon.

Exactly as advertised!!
I have viewed this Spool Tool in use by several of my YouTube Bushcrafters, i.e. CPL Kelly, and thought I would order one for my emergency equipment stock. The quality is excellent! Good workmanship, fit and function. I will be buying more in the future for Friends and share my experience and most important, personal recommendation to it's quality.

Well thought out and well made
Very smartly designed. I love the fact that the blade is replaceable and the holder for the mini Bic is designed in a way that the lighter cannot be accidentally activated while in the holder.

Made in America, ruggedly built to last.
I purchased the Tool Spool to organize cordage that I bring on my day hikes. Liking the concept that you can unwind your cordage, cut it, and use the lighter that you store in the spool to melt the ends to stop the cordage from fraying. And it is a small conveniencespool holding it all together.
