Guinness World Records: Science & Stuff

Kids loved it
My 7 and 9 year old fought over it. It's not exactly the school librarian approved chapter books I'd like them to read, but if it keeps them reading, then all is good.

Interesting
Our kids(7&12) love to know everything about everything. This keeps them interested with all the weird facts and hey they are reading so what more can you ask for

Cool book but unbalanced representation
I plan to give this to my nephew for Christmas. It looks like it's packed with info that he'll love...but I'm fairly dismayed at the lack of representation of people of color. The vast majority of the scientists and makers discussed in this book at white men. There are a few women and a few minorities. This is science and kids need to see scientists who look like them. Do better, Guinness.

My seven-year-old LOVES this thing... and I don't mind reading it either.
My first grade son pours over this book. He has taken it on multiple car trips, and more than once I've found him curled up on the couch with it. It's not just science... it's basically any and all subjects that would interest a kid (especially a boy) of that age.I remember loving Guinness World Records books when I was a kid, even outdated ones. But this is way more engaging - pages full of bright photos, crisp descriptions... it really reads more like a magazine. It's full book size, not tiny like the traditional records books.I feel like this might be great for parents who are having a hard time getting their kids into reading. There are so many tidbits and facts that will pull you right in. I'm going to order a couple more copies for some upcoming birthday parties. A definite win.

Fun Facts for Kids
This book has entertained both my kids for hours at a time, and has even taught us a few things. My 8 year old has spent a bit more time looking through the book than my 11 year old, but both enjoy it and will pick it up for "reading time homework". It has on occasion been available in the time out corner as well, to promote a change in attitude (boys find parts of the book funny).I've had to curtail a few home made experiments that were inspired by things in the book, but it was all with good intent.

Very short
This wasn't what I thought it was. Thought it was the actual book, but was like a small amount of the book

Fun and interesting
This is a book full of fun scientific facts. My sight year old son looked at the cover and saw that there was gross stuff inside (facts about pooping!) and he was immediately interested. Both he and I like to leaf through it and read different parts as we feel like it, as it’s written so that you can read it front to back or just open to random sections. We both have learned some interesting things and found it a fun read as well. Books like this are wonderful for my son who loves reading for fun but hates doing it for school. He is learning science while reading this book and he doesn’t even know it. I highly recommend this book for kids and adults alike.

Good but random
This is a great book filled with a lot of random records that don't seem to have much rhyme or reason. It is a perfect book for people who just like to randomly pick a page and read it. Unfortunately I bought this for my kids as they had gotten a similar guinness book from the library. The version I got from the library was a lot simpler and more appropriate for their reading level. TO give you an idea of the randomness this book has how to poop in space to the most obese person in the world. I would still recommend getting it.
