Pickleball Paddle
The best paddle I've ever used. Excellent control, textured surface, really makes a difference in your play. Has an embedded chip you can scan and keep track of play stats. Comes with extra grip replacements. Light weight, yet very solid and sturdy at the same time. Excellent paddle!

Awesome
JOOLA Tyson McGuffin Magnus 3 Pickleball Paddle with 1 Replacement Grip - Elongated Short Handle Pickleball Paddle...This is very comfortable to hold, and feels very light. Just a light hit sends the ball. Great shock absorption. Very happy with this paddle.

Powerhouse paddle - but currently not approved for tournament play!
Overall, this is a GREAT paddle. The new core design produces a TON of power but (if you practice with it) great control as well. The surface has a slight grit to it that allows for producing spin when you want it but not when you don’t (as with any textured surface paddle, you’ll want to use a paddle cleaning block on it somewhat regularly to remove any build up that can impact the way the surface interacts with the ball/reduces spin). The overall shape and size is what you’d expect, though the head is slightly longer (though it’s so light weight that it doesn’t impact the balance to any notable degree) which helps you reach more shots - and the longer head combined with the overall power of the paddle means that even a shot that you might barely reach can still get enough umph on it to go over the net.The paddle is well constructed and should prove to be very durable even though it’s light in weight. I love that it comes with a spare grip tape - not an expensive add-on but at this premium price point it’s well appreciated that you won’t have to go buy another grip immediately. The RFID chip to register the paddle is also a nice touch and expedites that process as well (which nets you the warranty - pun intended). So with all this good, why is this a 4 star paddle instead of a 5 star paddle? Well, as of the end of May 2024, this paddle (and all the other Gen 3 Joola paddles) has been removed from the USA Pickleball Association approved list meaning it can’t be used for tournament play. Joola says that it’s merely a paperwork issue and they’re working to get it fixed; but until that IS fixed, then it seems odd to spend a premium price on a paddle that can’t be used for tournaments. If and when that is fixed, this would certainly be a perfect/5 star paddle - but until then, it’s no more than 4 and may well chase away some buyers.

This is ONE BIG SWEET SPOT Paddle that truly feels different. Short Comparison 14mm vs 16mm.
So when i saw this paddle it immediately reminded me of the Selkirk Invikta, shape and principle wise they are similar, but i found the Joola Magnus 3 better, actually i've said this before with other paddles but this is my new favorite paddle. If i had to explain it in simple words, when you adapt to the subtle differences of the elongated shape and you have even a little of Tennis experience, you'd see how somehow you translate some of that technique here, it is hard to explain but you naturally approach swing and technique slightly differently, and beware, i am NOT saying that this will transform your pickleball game into Tennis i am saying that for some reason the approach is less focused on reaction and more in controlled power.Pickleball Paddles are one of those things that might work for you and not for me, but if i had to describe paddles that felt differently after years of the same, this is one that has felt different (alongside the Scorpeus 3, which is another AMAZING Paddle that feels different) but not only different, but also capable of performing a competitive game with an approach that feels different for me.The surface grip is what we've been used to from Joola, sometimes amazing, sometimes not so amazing. I had the chance to test this 16mm and a 14mm and the 14mm is perfect on both sides, oddly enough, this one has amazing grip on one side and the other side feels radically smoother than the other. The sweet spot is pretty much the whole block, this, along the Scorpeus 3 are just solid over all the surface, i don't know if it's related to what they called the "Propulsion Core" but it's solid everywhere. The grip is slightly shorter on this format, to compensate for the elongated surface. Coming from the traditional shape, it takes a while to get adjusted but once you learn it, your brain can adjust in and out of it within a few swings.Comparing the 14mm and 16mm is difficult in a way that the 14mm is lighter and traditionally has more "pop" than the 16mm, however being an elongated paddle, absorption increments with the amount of surface, so to summarize i can say the 14mm feels like a Hyperion 3 16mm, BUT power wise retains the 14mm characteristic, and the Magnus 3 16mm feels A LOT more controlled but less "snappy" than the Hyperion 16mm, however more powerful and with increased spin compared to the Hyperion. The NFC Tag is a great addition to identify your racquet and probably streamline registration/warranty for Joola, but overall this all reflects in an astronomical $279 price tag.I usually complain last about the price tag on Joola's Paddles, and these are NOT getting cheaper, every year the price goes up and it was kind of hard to justify on the Hyperion 3 but at least these Magnus 3 and Scorpeus 3 bring something that feels fresh to the table, sure it's not unique, but Joola did it right, and for innovation and quality at least for two series i can take the high price tag.

I like it more power than my previous Selkirk Luxx
Previously I used Selkirk Luxx, I loved it so much control and now that my skill level is higher, I’m looking for more power. Since Joola Magnus Gen3 just came out, there is no doubt that I must try.I love it! Great power and I can still control the ball. The grit issue is real. I touched my friend’s paddle and it was very gritty, sandy feels. Whereas my Magnus is smooth on both sides.I just ordered a new one, it’s more grit but still not as much as the one my friend had.
