6 inch warm light ereader
Fantastic ereader, has the warm light function that the kindle 6 inch is so pathetically lacking in 2026. Interface and UI is much cleaner than kindle, no ads on lock screen or home screen, third party books can be easily added with a simple drag and drop after plugging into a computer. Super light, thin, battery life for days. Kobo gets my vote for best 6 inch ereader to buy right now.

Nice e-reader!
I have used Kindle readers for quite some time, and decided to try something different since the reviews were so good, and I'm not disappointed. This reader is far snappier than any of the Kindle's I've had over the years. Compared to my current Kindle (2020 Sage Paperwhite) this is miles ahead - fast page turns, super-fast downloads, much less cluttered interface, good battery life, and better power button location. Clearly, a 4-year-old Kindle (even a Paperwhite) is not a fair comparison, but given the unattractive color options for the currently available Paperwhite (the new models have just been released - metalic finish likely to scratch easily) I thought the time was right to experiment, and I have no regrets what-so-ever. I like the light-weight and the much lower cost (129 USD v.s. 200 USD for a Paperwhite) This weighs significantly less than my 2020 Paperwhite and has the same display size. The only thing this lacks is the inability to access Amazon ebooks, but given that almost all publishers set their selling prices, you can get the same books from Kobo at the same prices (except those published by Amazon) No issues with library connection, no issues with side-loading books from my library (expect for those I bought from Amazon), and a much cleaner user interface. If you have a massive Amazon ebook library, this may not be the best option for you. Some publishers do specify no DRM, which allows you to read on whatever device you prefer rather than being locked into the seller's system) but if you borrow from the library regularly or obtain ebooks from a variety to sellers and not just Amazon, this is worth a try. It's like a standard Kindle with much better features at the same price. I'm considering replacing my 2020 Paperwhite with a standard Kindle, since those at least come in a color that I would not be embarrassed to use in public, but only because the speed and weight of this reader are so much better that it makes me sad to go back to the old Paperwhite to read books that are locked into Amazon's system.

Great way to read library books
It's quite easy to set up the Kobo reader to access your library overdrive account, and then you can take your library loans with you in a small, easily readable format. Unless I missed something, you still need a separate device (your desktop computer, iPhone or whatever - I use the Libby app) to actually check out the library book after your hold clears, but then after you sync on your Kobo the book is there for you to read it. The Kobo screen is clear and easy to read, though it takes a little time to get used to a screen that's probably smaller than what you're used to now.

Great choice for ereader
Great portable ereader. If you want the classic paper look, set it to 0 brightness (though that only works in the daytime). Great storage capacity, nice clean UI and not cluttered whatsoever. If you cant find the books you want on the Kobo store, you can always import them yourself by using a computer (which I love). It can be a little clunky/slow reacting, but it seems all ereaders are like that. Screen is big enough so it doesn't feel cramped, but portable enough to be convenient. I'm personally very happy with it.

Fantastic eReader
This is the best eReader for the money. I am so glad that Kobo made an updated version of this eReader. It is simple to set up and to use if you don't need anything fancy. The battery life is good and it recharges quickly.

Terrible for PDFs and be aware of $28 restocking fee
I'm not saying it's 1 star for everyone. It's a decent e-reader if you are mostly interested in reading epubs or mobi ebooks. I had hoped to use it to read PDFs. I'm a big ttrpg'er, and i have hundreds of rpg rules and adventures in pdf form that I read every day. So I loaded a few of them and attempted to read a couple of them. It was the same with all, even if they were only a few mb in size--the Kobo struggled to refresh the pdf location every time I moved it. PDFs need to be moved around on screen quite a lot to be read...they often read in 2 and 3 column layouts. Or have sidebars, etc. And I would have to sit and wait like 10 seconds every time I moved it left or right or down. It was completely useless. So, the point is...terrible product if you mostly intend to use it for reading PDFs. The other thing I should warn you about is that if you want to return it, you get a $28.00 restocking fee deducted from your refund.

Simple, clear and fun
This is a eReader not a tablet. As such I really enjoy reading books on it. I can easily attach it to my computer and transfer books epub, CBR (if ya want Manga, which I have tried and it looks great). I also borrow books from my local library via Overdrive/Libby and they sync over wifi onto the Kobo. I've had a few Kobos through the years, even before Rakuten bought them. I love the versatility of file support. I've even used it for music jams where I create epubs of lyrics for singers and it scales so well on the screen. Also love that on my smartphone I can sync articles to the Kobo via Pocket and I read them later... nice! I love that this model is water resistant (one less thing to worry about in my bag) and the warm light is clutch for night reading. The resolution is great, and the highest I've ever had in an ereader. I purchased the Kobo case (in orange) and appreciate the kickstand built in and use it at work on a table while eating lunch. Nice design, simple and effective. Grabbed the Kobo Clara BW on sale for about $20 less. While I love ereaders I think they should all be no more than $100. But innovation takes time to be adopted and folks pay the way.
