Exactly what I needed
I am a culinary student and I have a knife kit that has quite a few knives. After a few close calls almost cutting myself as I removed items from the kit. I had a different style knife guard on my chef's knife(which is special to me) to keep it from getting damaged but it was a large clear shell that was simply too bulky and expensive to outfit my entire kit with. I found these and decided to give them a try. I am really pleased, they fit my knives very well with no excess bulk or weight. They also are quick to remove but still secure enough to stay on in transport. I was concerned that they would not stay in place on my thinner Japanese knives but they are secure even on my usuba. I have range of knives from different manufacturers (shun, henckels, and mercer) and they fit the same on all different styles of knives.I have no complaints at this point. They do what they are meant to do without excess bulk and at a reasonable price. Highly recommended for anyone with kitchen knives that are not in a block.

Study item. I bought this for my work lunchbag. EXCELLENT!!!!!
This chef knife guard was a great purchase. The guard is made of a VERY thick fabric. I don't feel like the knife will penetrate the fabric. I bought this for my work lunch bag. I found that my steak knife kept cutting through my bag. I have bought several lunch bags before finding this item. I haven't needed to buy a new lunch bag since buying this guard.I tried to buy a plastic guard but found that my knife didn't sit/slide into it as nicely as this one. My knife slides into this so smoothly. The knife I used in this guard is a steak knife. It fits perfectly. I don't think it would hold a bigger knife. There is a velcro piece that holds the knife into place so it doesn't slip or move around.I haven't needed to wash this item as I always place a clean knife into it but it does look like it could be washed. When I am ready to wash it, I plan on placing it inside of a laundry bag to prevent damage. The color I bought was black. The color is a true black and matches my lunch bag.I would definitely buy this again. This is a great product.

Protects most cooking knives in a home cook’s collection
When my universal knife block cracked after years of service, I decided to make more room on my countertop by storing my expensive cooking knives in a cutlery drawer. These sleeves makes it safe to do this and, more importantly, protects the blades. This set is sufficiently sturdy and works well for most of my collection. That said, I still had to purchase a separate sheath for my bread knife, which was a bit annoying and pricey. But it’s still a good investment, especially from a safety standpoint. Recommend.

The material is fine for the job, but…
It will protect the the blade just fine, but it doesn’t stay on the knife as securely as I would like.

Works Great, Protects my Knives!
I desperately needed some good knife guards. My knives were getting more blunt by the day, and no matter how often I sharpened my knives they remained blunt as ever. I ordered this set of knife guards, and they work amazingly! My knives stay in place, the blades are well protected and it makes it easy to transport knives if I'm packing for a picnic or a camping trip. The knife blades are intact and fit snugly into the guards and the 4 different sizes come in handy for all different sizes of my knives. I'm able to reach into my drawer without fear of getting sliced by a blade, and my blades remain sharper than ever and well protected! I actually went back and ordered a few more sets of these, they are great!!

Durable large knife gurds
If you have a large expensive kitchen knife it's imperative to use a blade guard to keep your blade in good condition. These are a durable and safe knife edge guard. I've tried several other brands before and they split or sometimes even cut through if your aren't careful. These are a pleasure to use for your large chef or bread knives that you keep in a drawer. I like that they have an angled notch at the edge to make putting them on the blade easy and safe.

Very good!
These get the job done. The Wusthof guards are excellent as well, but the size range is more limited.Btw, I do NOT recommend knife blocks! Two reasons: first of all if someone puts a knife into them that's not completely clean, it's impossible to get that slot clean. I've literally seen Lab experiments growing inside of wooden blocks. But the main reason is that a block full of knives can be easily tipped over! Try it: using one finger, pull down on the end of a handle. (Think of small hands reaching up, and all of a sudden having a shower of knives come down!) Magnetic bars are excellent if your kitchen allows it. Otherwise, use knife guards. (If you're anal like Martha Stewart, you can draw the outline of each knife on the bottom of the drawer.)
