Ideal for filling in taped taper edged plaster board especially diy
There are lot of jointing thingies around with very flexible blades. When board has a taper edge and is jointed with paper tape this can be idea as they bend in leaving a concave surface when the jointer is applied under pressure. Even more so if further pressure is applied to the centre of the blade with an extended finger. This isn't so good when filling flush with jointing compound trying to scrape of excess at the same time. A pro would use their usual trowel / float. I find that more awkward to use especially on a ceiling. The blade on the 6" one is considerably stiffer than some others so I would say this one is a far better option than others for filling in leaving a flat flush surface needing minimal sanding and also when adhesive tape is used. If offered I would have probably gone for 8".The tool itself looks to be very well made and sturdy. The blade is also a decent grade of stainless - I always check with a magnet. Hardly any attraction at all. This isn't always the case.I also bought the 18" one to smooth a bit of plastering I must do myself. I am just doing preparation in other areas. The ceiling may finish up just being emulsioned - a popular option on plasteboard these day providing the jointing is good enough and it's sealed as well. I would have bought the 24" one but longer delivery time. Length within reason helps when flattening plaster after it's been trowelled on with the usual trowel. Speed scims are probably better but cost more.John-

Good quality 'Taping Knives'. Give this Company a try.
Bought 6" and 14". Quality appears excellent - well made and accurate. Will definitely buy this brand again if prices remain competitive.

Five Stars
Very useful for larger areas but I do find I always end up using smaller spatulas....
