This is a super read, a great sequel to Mart's Lagacy
I absolutely loved Her Daughters Dream, it was a super sequel to Marta's Legacy. It covered a 100 years of one branch of the family with snippets of the other sibling's lives from time to time. They are both an excellent read and I would recommend then to anyone wanting an honest portrayal of family life with all its twists and turns and all of human nature displayed. I couldn't put either of them down. I wholeheartedly agree with you Kate. I couldn't read it fast enough and was then was sorry when I had finished them!!!Jean

Brilliant book. Second of the two in this series. Francine Rivers is my favourite author, God has given her an incredible gift . Always a good story and very thought provoking.

... for our daughter for Christmas and she has always loved Francine Rivers other novels
This book was a present for our daughter for Christmas and she has always loved Francine Rivers other novels. So I would imagine she was delighted with it but obviously can't speak from personal experience!!

Deep and strong
Four generations, the life of 4 women, told in two books. You will feel deeply with each of them, and identify with the one you will like most, as I did. But I won't tell which one. People are different, and so are these 4 women. To know the whole story, You will have to read both books, and You will read them with pleasure, I assure You. Rivers books surely are not just light entertainment, they show real existing, hard problems, that may be shocking for some people. Please don't read it, if You just seek light entertainment. But read it, if You are interested to be a friend to people, who suffer from hardship in their life. You will understand them better, you will understand yourself better und hopefully, you will understand Gods Grace better.

A Spellbinding Mother-Daughter Historical Novel Grounded in God's Faithfulness Through Life's Storms
*****I just finished reading this amazing book, the sequel to "Her Mother's Hope" (part two of a two part series called "Marta's Legacy"), and it was an unforgettable experience. The entire story (both books) follows family relationships, especially mother and daughter relationships spanning four generations. This second book, covering the time period from the 1950's to today, is even better, I think, than the first book (if that could be possible), as many loose ends are resolved and there are surprising conclusions. You find out what happens to the people you loved from the first book. Although this book was almost 600 pages, I hated for it to end. I felt as though I was so involved with the families and I knew that I was saying goodbye to their lives forever, although not to the lessons I've learned from them. This is Christian fiction at its best, with fascinating historical details throughout and with events seen from the intriguing perspectives of the women of different generations. The voices change in both books, moving from mother to daughter (not alternating, but moving at a certain point--the first book covering Marta and Hildemara Rose and the second covering Carolyn and May Flower Dawn) so as a reader you have the opportunity to get to really know each of the women. All four of the women are in this second book. The theme of both books shows how imperfect people do their very best to be loving and yet sometimes their beloved family members just aren't able to see that love and misinterpret it. Sometimes, if we are blessed, the misperceptions can be corrected and so much healing can take place, with God's help. Through everything that happens to us, God's love is always, always there. The two titles are taken from this sentence in one of the womens' journals: "I have lived out my mother's hope and pray I have given wings to my daughters' dreams." Each of the women in this two-book series tried to do this their own way and with God's help. This is a book that you will not be able to put down.I suppose that it would be possible to just read this second book without the first, but I wouldn't do it. I would miss out on all of the pleasure of understanding the older women in the second book, of being familiar with their lives and of knowing why they were the way they were--how traumas and wounds had made them that way. I would miss seeing how they changed and grew over the years. I wouldn't see how profound it was that mistakes of one generation are passed down to subsequent generations...I would miss the richness of this incredible series. Read both.Highly recommended.*****

Highly recommended!
Wonderfully written book! Must read the first book of the series to fully understand this one and it takes a bit of time before the happy times come. It is a great book about the women in a family through the generations. Francine Rivers has a wonderful grasp of relationships. I highly recommend this book/series!

Sehr eindrücklich
Francine Rivers ist halt eine wirklich gute Autorin. So lebensnah und spannend. Man kann das Buch kaum weglegen bis es zu Ende gelesen ist.
