The media could not be loaded. My father in law has been wanting one of these for an area that he has been struggling to grow grass in. It was the perfect fathers day gift! I built it before I gave it to him. Instalation took a little time because I wanted to make sure all of the bolts were tight. I put rocks in side the bag and not sand, it gave it a good amount of weight. Our ground is pretty hard right now from no rain, after a good rain this thing is going to sink in and roll perfect. The gift is perfect because now I can barrow it from him for my yard too! The height on the pole is good, he's tall and doesn't have to bend or push too much. When he used it on a side that had thick grass it didn't tear the grass up. Excited to use it in the areas that are pooling to help with drainage during heavy rain. Father in law was very happy with it!

I recommend to weight it with sand and water as it needs it to work efficiently.Blades are sharp and leaving a deep indents on th lawn. To do a beneficial job on your lawn need to be worked backwards and forward on bald spots.

grab your own tools and magnifying glasses to see the instructions, nothing is clearly labeled, go by the pictures here to get an idea of what goes where. Junk fittings....more junk China stuff. Keeping because I need to get the project done this weekend. Not worth .01 cents.

Worked fine for me on my 1/2 acre area. The spokes are intermixed creating various holes. Easy to assemble. I put smaller river rocks in the bag & dropped down the tube, then filled in open areas with pea gravel. Made the weight just heavy enough so it wasn’t hard to push/pull.

What I didn't like about this product is, one of the sides of the drum that connects to the handle comes off as you are rolling it. The nut that is supposed to keep it place for some reason falls off. It is very frustrating and annoying having to carry a wrench with you all the time. I will not recommend this product!

not enough weight... built like a tank....if it could weigh mote or have longer tines it would be perfect for this...my loss this could be nice

I was looking for a cheaper alternative to aerate my lawn. This came in the clutch. You would need to add weights in the cylinder (rocks/gravel), to help assist sinking down and creating the holes.

The product I recieved looked used. The manual was also so faded that I couldnt read it, but hopefully I put it together correctly; there weren’t too many pieces. Came within the time frame I needed it so it had to do. Quality wise, could be better. Did get this when it was “on sale” with a coupon so I guess you get what you paid for in that sense. Additionally, the manual should include the insertion of the sandbag to weigh the product down.

Purchased to aerate lawn works best when filled with sand otherwise to light. Time will tell happy so far.

The metal used to make this aerator is strong. The color coating protects against corrosion. The bag is included for sand to make it more heavy. The handle is of right size to move it around garden or lawn. The spikes penetrative well into soil. Overall excellent item for home garden.

I was not given all of the nuts, bolts, and washers that were labeled in the materials list.One of the bolts keep popping off the side as you roll it so you constantly have to reattach before you start again.You need to push down on the handle for the roller to push in to the soil. This leads to the handle bending at it’s attachment points as you are rolling it.I really don’t know how this product got rated so highly. Maybe Amazon needs to check if the company is doing something with the ratings to make them higher than what they should be.

I own a small business. I’m a big fan of quality heavy duty tools. When I put it all together, I knew right then that it was getting returned even before I used it. It could be a great tool! Just put a 1 or 2 piece shaft on it and make it 1”! It’s a 3 piece 1/2” shaft with VERY loose connections where you slide them into each other. Look at my pics after a couple hours of work. There was almost 2” of play back and forth it felt like I was going to break the shaft where the bolts are. The soil it was used in was quite soft as I ran the sprinklers many nights before use. It works well when you put your weight into it, but after 2 hours of hard work, it’s about to break. I would’ve loved this product if it had a longer shaft. The other good reviews are weekend warriors who probably just rolled it without actually putting some weight in it. And yes, I filled with sand. Was also missing washers but didn’t bother me as I’m very well set up with that stuff. I’ll buy again if they design a more heavy duty shaft.
