Excellent varish, good coverage

This yacht varnish used on external bare mop head handrail, the wood sanded and cleaned before application, fortunately a dry week chosen to apply the varnish as many coats were needed to obtain a good result, unfortunately each coat needed 24hrs to dry before the next which did need sanding with fine paper. After four or five days and coats the surface is that of a quality varnish finish, waterproof and smooth with a clear lacquer suitable for handrail use however had it not been for days of fine weather the result may not have been achieved, the same time period and multiple coats would still have been needed indoors.

Have used this varnish before, and it works well for me. Lovely satin finish. Do what they say on the tin i.e. thin it 20% for the first coat on new wood. In fact, I thin it for all the coats, and it goes far. It will dry in 24 hours, but leave it longer to properly harden, say, several days in warm weather. I usually walk away from it for a week before putting stuff on the surface. I've never sprayed with it, but I bet it would achieve an even better finish than by brush (which still looks good). I paid about £11 for a 500ml tin on Amazon, which I think is good value.

Applied easily, good coverage, best to leave overnight to dry.Nice sheen, not a jammie gloss.Happy with the result.
