I took some x-rays of the workings of it
I believe it’s a good product, I hope it is not snake oil. But I wanted to see what I bought so I figured I would share the pictures

Top quality EMP shielding for the home
This year (2024) the sun is at its solar maximum in its 11 year cycle. It has been throwing off some pretty intense solar flares. These in turn caused news-making reports of the aurora borealis at extremely southern latitudes. It was just these sorts of flares that have in the past fried our electrical grid. The Carrington Event is a famous such incident. Many think that another such event could occur even this year and fry the electrical grid either worldwide or in localized areas. If that should happen, it could also fry all the wiring and electronics in our houses. This device is designed to protect your house's entire electrical system in case of: Solar flares EMPs (Electromagnetic Pulses) Lightning strikes I don't think some other reviewers understand this product or what it does. The manufacturer's website is impressive with nearly 800 five star reviews and a list of certifications and standards they've passed. For example, it surpasses all military EMP testing standards: MIL-STD-188-125-1 MIL-STD-464C MIL-STD-461-G RS-105 (90,000 Volts) The military is particularly invested in protecting itself from disabling electrical system problems because there are weapons specifically designed to produce EMPs. Nuclear weapons can also produce EMPs. This device surpasses even the standards that the US military uses to protect itself from weapons they know will be directed at it! It gives me additional confidence that the company stands behind their product with a 10 year warranty and $25,000 in insurance if the device doesn't protect my electronics. That's pretty impressive these days. It's also a veteran-owned company and all their devices are made in the USA. Something that has become increasingly rare. Naturally this is the kind of product you hope never needs to be tested, but these days it seems likelier than ever before that one might potentially save their house with one of these devices. It can't hurt and it could potentially make a huge difference in your post-apocalyptic life. If I were going to choose any device it would be this one due to the manufacturer's reputation, reviews, and very high standards and certifications.

Pretty nice surge protector!
I have been wanting a good electrical surge protector for our home for a while. We have quite a few thunder and lightning storms around here so I thought this would be a great added bonus to our home! It has stormed a few times this week and we got to test it out and it seems like it definitely did its job. There's usually quite a bit of electrical flickering going on during the storms, but once we got this all set up there was none this time around. You couldn't even tell that it was lightning like crazy outside. This is very well made and very heavy duty. Definitely feels like it's made of thick wires as opposed to cheap and flimsy ones. My husband was easily able to fully get this installed and set up in no time and he said it was very straightforward and easy to do so. There is a video online on how to do it if you do have any trouble. This came just as it should be with no damage whatsoever. It was very well packed and secured. Definitely happy with this overall and I would say it's a great value for your money so that you can rest assured there won't be any major electrical damage from surges. Got to give this a 10/10

Protect That Which Protects You - My Prepper Score 3/5
I have a 10K Generac portable generator that is large enough to run the whole house. I use a full-on transfer switch for it so I already have a place for this to go. Others have said it is just a glorified surge protector and if that is the case, at least there is that. My generator feed line is 30' long which makes it more vulnerable to surges according to the directions that came with this EMP Shield. An EMP can be far enough away that it would only affect the power transfer lines and not devices in a home directly. In that case or a lightning strike, this would be very effective in shunting the additional energy to earth and not everything plugged into my home electrical wiring. This EMP Shield, and its cousins, the whole house and vehicle versions are pricey. As one YouTuber said, this should be somewhat far down your list of things to prep unless you have significant money to use. This is why I endorse the use of it but assign it a score to 3/5 because there are a lot of things that should come first as stated in my list below. I have this section to rate any of my prepper-related reviews. My rating for this is... MY PREPPER SCORE: 3 out of 5 1 = do not buy 2 = has issues that dilute usefulness 3 = may or may not be useful; might depend on your situation 4 = good item with minor caveats 5 = you need this

Unique protective equipment for electric surges.
This is a fuse-like device meant to protect large generators and those connected appliances from EMPs or other strong surges such as lightning strikes. It is easy to assemble, and most breaker boxes have room to mount the device itself. My electrician friend installed it in my shed and said it was perfect and simple to install. I once had an issue where I was charging my cell phone in an outlet on a wall with an exterior side and when lightning struck nearby, my phone completely died instantly, never to turn on again. Since installing this device I have not had any problems like that, and I am more confident with plugging things in to whatever outlets I can. If I were to have had this at the time my cell was destroyed it would have already paid for itself. I am definitely planning on getting another one for the house!
