Telescope Casual 3REC15C00 Canvas Director Chair Replacement Cover, Teal

Perfect fit for a Telescope brand chair. I had previously purchased a genuine mesh cover and found that it can shorten up if chair is not in used often. I switched that to the outside chair and this new canvas seat cover and back to the inside chair. Director's chairs are not just fun, they are simple and a great way to have extra comfortable seating on hand. I only wish this one came in a few more colors like khaki or espresso [*those colors were not available at the time of purchase]. Also being able to get custom embroidery would be a nice option too. I have several family members who love their chairs and wish they could put family names and logos on them. You can never go wrong with a Director's Chair. They last a lifetime if cared for and fit many needs and uses.

Heavy Canvas, fast shipping. Unfortunately there was a rip in plastic bag that contained the white cover and the white had what looked like a dirty finger print. Luckily it washed away. The way the top piece was folded around the bottom left a weird distorted crease so I had to press it. The top piece was cut wrong so one side is 6.75 inches and the other is 6.5 inches and on a curve so it looks odd. I bought a vintage telescope directors chair at a thrift store and had the original back and bottom. The original material started to give way as soon as I sat on it so I needed a replacement. I'll live with the defect but wish I didn't need to wash and iron to make it acceptable.

I bought these replacement canvas pieces for a Telescope Director's Chair that was originally purchased in the mid-1960's. It has been used 2-3 months every summer at our family's summer home -- either on a screened porch with no direct sunlight or on an outside porch with part-time direct sunlight. When the seat finally gave out last summer, I despaired about finding replacement canvas. I thought I would have to make them myself. When I opened the package, I was delighted to see that the replacement pieces are an exact match for the old canvas parts. Having read previous reviews, I replaced the dowels that came with the new canvas parts, and installed the new canvas on the chair. The seat piece was a little tricky to fit -- mostly because the old seat had stretched so much and was looser by comparison, but the instructions helped me figure out how to make it work. I am so delighted to find these replacement pieces. I'm going to order more to have on hand when the canvas seat and back on the four other director's chair finally give up the ghost. It's good to know the Telescope company is still around.

To install the seat, you will find that the opposite ends of each dowel/fabric edge are too large to fit into the slot. One side will be easy - push in the "slim" end. But the other side will be difficult to fit because of the fabric build up from manufacturing. For this side, Push the plastic dowel back into the fabric so iis about 1/4 in of "fabric only". I used a needle nose plier to do this. Use the needle nose pliers to pull the fabric into the slot followed by the dowel. Use the needle nose pliers to pull each side along the slots until fully installed. Be careful not to damage the fabric while pulling it through the tight spots.

Bought two in black. Nice color and good tight seat section, but only three stars because the sewing on both sets could be more neatly (or evenly) done, and the back pieces are not as "tall" as the original stock on my genuine Telescope chairs so they don't fit like those originals do. Perhaps Telescope has changed the size of the spacing between the routed out sections of the back poles over the years?

Our chairs are 30+ years old. We needed new replacement canvas seats and back but were concerned that the fit would be wrong after so many years. With careful measurement we were able to find these and the fit was perfect. Quick delivery too.

These are the more expensive covers. Needed them quick for wedding chairs - hoped there would be no problems. The second seat cover wouldn't fit - the canvas is too thick around one end of the plastic rod so we couldn't use the chair. And rather than hassle the return (on Amazon's not user friendly site of too much information) I cut out some of the thickness of the canvas - a 1/4" x 1/2" at the one end of each of the rods and it fit. Hope it won't fall apart soon. I wouldn't buy this brand again - and pay top dollar. Not worth it to me now that I know.

Perfect! Exactly as described and fit my antique-y director's chairs. They appear to be very well made, easy to install, and come with the small dowl rods needed to secure them to the chairs. The blue color I ordered, however, is much more vibrant, royal blue, than the hue that's pictured. I love them, either way.
