BANKE SHINOBI NO DEN Study and Training Review: Training Methods and Katas of the Shinobi of Koka - Finally a book, that shows step by step authentic katas from the Ban family of Koka. In addition the author describes the different training methods of body and mind transmitted to him by Soshike Kawakami. Easy to understand and in an entertaining way the reader enters the world of training methods how they were used over 500 years ago by the shinobi. For the first time there are step-by-step pictures of katas with weapons and empty hand, with explanations. Really worth to read this book and start to apply some of these techniques....although everybody has to understand that the oral transmission from master to student (kuden) is decisive to learn and understand completely all the techniques. Review: if you are new to the subject you will like it. I was hoping to see a book ... - Mostly Bujutsu hand to hand, the Ninjutsu are things that most people know, if you are new to the subject you will like it. I was hoping to see a book on Shinobijutsu. I recommend Antony Cummins books for this, he's not worried about secrets, it's sad people are still trying to hide information about Ninjutsu these days.

way to much skipped
this book is not as clear as the first while the first was a out line of the basics this ones jumps into the training with way to much missing impossible to follow again i know this are is highly protected and very secretive because ts a live art much like the kans but if your gonna skip over the good stuff and go to bujutsu its not doing much you could have went over other things not as secretive but still informative but i understand why its capped but others wont and will go to others for info. missed opportunity but good for those who have studied some of this,,, but its material we have already covered.

Firstly it was really nice to see ninjuts from the koga tradition being taught and the author has made a good effort with this book. I have briefly conversed via text with the author and it is rare to see someone a gaijin who is dedicated to learning the koga ban tradition. The author has made a good effort. In many respects I would say with a small ryu much can be preserved especially the old ways. We currently live in a society that is crumbling and many things that say just 100 years ago were common knowledge we have lost. I saw a you tube thing of Mr Kawakami doing his ninjuts and it made me smile seeing this guy keeping his tradition alive. The author is probably one of the few who have learned koga from Mr Kawakami so what is presented here in his book is the real thing. Well done a good effort. Writing a book is not an easy thing especially if you are not a writer. So well done.
