Works Well
I bought this machine for occassional use, which I think is how most people outside of business use them. It works well and I'm really happy with it. I've done about 6 documents of various sizes so far and it has done a really nice job. For the amount of use it will get, I certainly don't need anything more than this machine. I don't intend to punch 12 sheets of 80gsm paper regularly but it did manage it. I know that my partner would have struggled to push the handle down, but it can do it. Normally I would aim to do around half that or less - it is a maximum afterall - because it is much easier and better for the machine. Pull the handle down to punch holes, push the handle back to open the combs. It comes with 100x 10mm binding combs plus instructions. The combs are the perfect size for me as they will hold around 40 to 50 pages as a maximum but most of the things I'll use it for will be far less than that. It can take much bigger combs if needed. I punched the holes and read the instructions about how to bind the document ... but that didn't really help. Online videos show exactly what you need to do. Basically put the comb on the machine (open side up) and push the handle forward to open and stretch out the comb. You don't need to puch it all the way, just enough that it opens the comb and gives you a place to hook your pages on. Then hook your pages over the end of the comb. Once your pages are on (can be a bit fiddly) then pull the handle back to close the comb. Done! I did not buy plastic covers but instead laminated the cover of each document and punched holes in it. Worked well and I will do it that way in the future. I used some A4 card to provide a strong back cover but you could laminate the back as well. It was very easy to put together. The size guide is good, it screws in place and won't move unless you want it to. The switch for choosing between a 3, 4 or 5mm margin is at the rear of the machine, just above the tray that captures the waste from punching the holes. You can accidently knock the margin slider quite easily. The waste tray comes out qute easily and will fall out unless you stop it when carrying the machine by the carry handle. Neither points really bothered me. Simple machine, works well, does what I need.

Sturdy, affordable, and perfect for my needs.
I’m happy with this. I don’t use it a huge amount, but when I have it’s been more than good enough for my needs. It’s much cheaper than a lot of the other brands, but seems solid and reliable. Fairly sturdy, with a bit of weight to it, and so far it’s been a good buy. I use it for printing and binding workbooks for students, and it’s handled that perfectly well. I’d buy it again if I needed another.

Great product
I bought this to make some calendars at home. I did have to YouTube how to use as the instructions were not clear. Very happy with how well it has worked out. Once knew how to work was easy, a bit fiddly but easy

Great for small infrequent documents.
Good sturdy product but you may need larger diameter splines for more pages. Not for doing large numbers of documents as you can only press out slots a few pages at time without pages binding.

A good machine for the price...
A solid and well built machine, but is was near its limits when punching through 945 gsm heavy cardboard which I use as a backing board for photo books. I also found that I needed to punch sheets of 200 gsm photo paper in small groups of 5 sheets at a time to ease the pressure required. I have successfully punched holes along the short and long edges of A4 to make portrait or landscape books - as required. There is an adjustable edge guide which allows positioning of the paper to prevent a half hole being punched at the edge of the paper. Use a spare sheet of A4 to ensure/adjust this setting before punching your document. There is also an adjustment on the back of the machine which set the distance of the binding holes from the edge of the paper, which is very useful when making thicker books. Maybe its my lack of technique, but I found that it is easier to hand assemble the binding comb through the punched holes, than using the machine to do it, as most times it failed to complete the task correctly. All in all a very usable machine and a decent price.
