Clementoni "Leonardo - Mona Lisa Puzzle (1000 Piece)

A very challenging jigsaw puzzle! You have to match swirl patterns in the waves and various shades of sky and sails. It also helps to understand a bit about how the masts and rigging are set up. I'd just finished building a model of "Old Ironsides", so I was pretty familiar with ship's rigging. The Amerigo Vespucci is an actual ship, which we've seen both moored in Boston Harbor and under sail. The painting of the ship is quite accurate, and attractive enough that I plan to hang the finished puzzle in our family room. I use the 12-sheet "Peel and Stick" puzzle saver pack to hold the finished puzzle together securely.

My husband and I put a puzzle together at least once a year, usually in the winter months when it's miserable outside, because it gives us a productive indoor hobby. We usually chose puzzles that feature unique homes or castles and we frame them once we are done. This puzzle is of a charming and cozy Victorian home set amid a colorful and detailed garden that will make you wish were there sipping tea surrounded by all that lush greenery. The puzzle itself is well crafted and made with quality, and has a 1000 pieces. We put this one together in record time because we had a wonderful time working on it. I will certainly purchase from this seller again.

I would do this brand (Clementoni) again. We usually do Ravensburger, but found this was also well made (no fraying cardboard), well fitting (didn't run into pieces that fit into more than one spot), aesthetically pleasing ( I don't like boring/childish puzzles or ones that use tacky unskilled stock photos... and was running out of Ravensburger puzzles that weren't obnoxious), and didn't have large fields of monotonous solid color--which my husband hates. School of Athen's does have a lot of white walls, but the texture and shading varies enough that it wasn't that bad at all. Satisfied with my first Clementoni experience, and happy with the Artwork. I do wish I'd reviewed this months ago when we did it and it was fresh in my mind--right now I can't remember if the puzzle piece quality ranks specifically higher or lower than Ravensburger, but I do recall that I was pleased.

So right out of the package the box was a little bit damaged which I don’t mind but other avid puzzle collectors might really gripe about this. The pieces are great quality, about the same thickness and sturdiness that would find with a ravensburger puzzle. My only complaint was that quite a few pieces were not completely cut apart making you have to rip them out of each other and in some cases this would tear the cardboard on the back of the piece. So all in all there were a few things that bothered me but if you got past the box damage (which most people won’t have) and pieces that weren’t quite separated you get a nice, sturdy, satisfying jigsaw.

This puzzle is as beautiful as it appears in the photo. It is 1000 pieces and will take a while to put together. If you are going to work a long time on a puzzle, it out to be lovely and interesting. This one is! The colors are vibrant, and there is a magical quality to the castle framed by the snowy evergreens. My family has not put it together yet, but it will be fun to see such a stunning picture come together when we do!

This was a wonderful puzzle to do. Very well cut, no piece were connected to each other, none of the edging was peeling and good colour. It was also a good challenge especially with the trees and sky but not overly where you are just sticking pieces in and hoping one fits. I really liked doing the house, but that was further along. I would defiantly buy another Clementoni puzzle.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this high quality puzzle. The longest part of the puzzle is the sky but once you have completed the corners and then the actual bridge it becomes a lot easier. The sky has different tints of color so stand back and match the colors of each tint before proceeding otherwise it will take you a long time to finish. All in all we loved this puzzle.
