Please read review before ordering anything else from this good company😉👌
These headphones, which are the arctic nova five X wireless have the same exact drivers as the series 7 pro wireless. Nova has a 50 to 60 hour battery life. The seven has two interchangeable 20 hour batteries. Nova get one gold star lol. The nova has a companion app for your cell phone that allows you to control the equalizer and over 260 different presets for all different sounds. The series 7, requires you to connect to your computer with a wire via an extra peripheral called a gameDAC , and this thing would be convenient, but can’t hold remotely as much presets as the companion app for the cell phone for the nova. The nova can also be connected to your computer to add custom presets to your app which allows even more diversity, but you don’t need to. Nova gets another gold star. This year the nova introduced a new microphone that blows the series 7 microphone out of the water as far as sound quality And that’s another gold star for the nova. The nova has double wishbone suspension as a pull it to hold the cups firmly on the ears. The series 7 has only one arm on one side of each headphone cup. This can fatigue, the arm after a while, causing the cup to become a little relaxed, and it does not grip the head as hard. The nova is not too tight, but it is snug to keep the sound in. The series 7, also costs almost 3 times as much as the Nova 5x. The series 7 is made with aluminum and nicer materials, but they are also all interchangeable except for the main solid headband that goes across the top. Where as the nova five is made out of material and a thick plastic, it depends really on if you like aluminum or not, but you can’t tell by looking at it that’s just another difference. I have two friends now that bought the seven after I bought the five and they are very upset. I think I got mine on Amazon for under $120 and they spent a little over $300 for theirs. they are happy with the headphone because they’re a good headphones but they’re not happy that they spent the money not realizing that the series 7 is definitely going to be refreshed this coming year. Save yourself the money do you research steel series versus steel series on YouTube you’ll find everything you need to know about the two of them versus each other. This way to save your money for some more video games.. PS because of the 2.4 GHz/Bluetooth dongle. I was able to get the Xbox version faster and still connect it to my PlayStation five. Using the 2.4 GHz dongle. The only difference between the seven and the five is that the seven can connect to your console or computer and still using 2.4 GHz use two channel Bluetooth to also answer the phone. Then number five I believe has 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth, but you have to switch between the two of them when using the game console at least but the phone will ring in your ear to let you know you have a cold you just have to switch with one button on the side of the head. I think you’ll find the pricing a little confusing as the pros seven series also seems to fluctuate in price between the Xbox, the PC and the PlayStation version as much as $50 difference between them and there is no difference between them literally so I don’t know why there’s a fluctuation in pricing. Somebody knows I’m not sure if you can reply to my review but let me know? I hope this all helps. Just make sure if you do get the Xbox version for the PlayStation five that you have the 2.4 GHz dongle. It’s a long rectangle. It’s about 2 inches at best but it has a toggle switch. I got the Xbox one because it shipped immediately. I was gonna have to wait a few days more for the PC or the PlayStation version. I’ll tell you that the companion app on the cell phone does wonders using the 260+ presets for the EQ switch instantaneously and on the flight consistently without having to plug into the computer. And without having to worry about a gameDAC or two separate rechargeable battery packs that you have to swap into your ear every 20 hours when you just plug in the series 5 and get 60 hours worth of play. It’s not standby time by the way that’s playtime. You can play every day for eight hours a day for a whole week and still have some hours left over the sound quality is great and you’re just listening to music using your phone they pound. !!!

Best for Xbox and PC/Mobile
I'm in love with these headsets, it was just plug and play. The app is very useful to change the EQ preset according to the game I play on Xbox. There was no need to do extra steps to get these to work, although you might need a PC in order to update the firmware with SteelSeries GG software. The headset feels comfortable and I barely feel I have them on after several hours (I have a small head). The sound is very clear, I can notice small details while gaming, no heavy bass boost or any extra sound feature that make the sound uncomfortable like explosions in game. It is a well balanced sound and they are very loud that I barely keep them 100% the volume, with SteelSeries GG software on PC you can customize the EQ how you like for competitive shooter games or any other games you play. I feel the default EQ presets I tried were really nice, some people have issues with some default EQ presets but you can always tweak it with GG software ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. The SteelSeries App just works, it was easy to set up and there is no delay while changing the EQ preset. However you cannot make a custom preset from the app, you might need to install SteelSeries GG software on your PC and create the EQ preset on Engine section. You can set the Equalizer for 2.4Ghz connection or BT, having an EQ gaming preset for 2.4Ghz and EQ music preset for BT, there is no need to switch it over again after switching to Xbox/PC or phone. There is no delay or distortion issue with the dongle on Xbox or PC, I feel the delay on these headsets are very minimum, dialogues are always synced. on mobile I just use it to listen audios or watch short videos that I don't care much how it works there but it works really nice and there is no delay at all. Bluetooth on PC I wished I can test it and I hope to do it soon. A quick tip if you move the dongle back and forth on Xbox and PC, you can install the Xbox Accessories app on PC and use the dongle on Xbox mode on PC, this just works ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Noted: These headsets will only work Wireless, with either the original dongle or Bluetooth. There is no wired solution or to pair it with Xbox Wireless Adapter on PC, I wished these two options were available for versatility. and there is no simultaneously BT connection, you either have it connected via dongle or have it connected via BT but you cannot listen to both at the same time, the quick switch just works really fast tho. I still haven't tried really well the battery life for these headsets, I've been using it a lot to tweak things and use it on Xbox, PC and phone that battery life just lasted a week, I will measure it with a normal use later on. (hopefully I didn't get a deflective one since 1 week was pretty short according to their 60hr battery life advertisement) --- I hope to get back to this review for long term review, in my opinion SteelSeries did a good job making these headsets for this price comparing to others brands for what it offers. It is really worth the purchase if you mainly use Xbox and PC for gaming.

Amazing quality, X-box connection isn't the best. Long read, but I wanted to give a thorough review.
For reference, I mostly play Fortnite on X-box. I was really excited for this headset. The dongle to get it connected is a bit wonky looking as you have to use a usb cord, but it isn't a big deal. Long battery life, clear mic sounds for others, sound for me is phenomenal, switching between 2.4 & bluetooth is simple and easy when in game play. Calls coming through are wonderful quality, and the alert mechanism is top tier. The cord given with the headset is long and seems well made, and the headset itself is very well made & comfortable. I have a lot of hair & wear glasses. So, I enjoy the comfort of the headset a lot. Battery life lasts me 3-4 days of 4+ hours each day of gameplay. My kids are older now & like playing matches with me, don't judge. :) My biggest and only real complaint is that the X-box connection will randomly not work properly. This is likely a console problem, not the headset. Sometimes I can turn on the system, turn on the headset.. sound/mic works perfectly. Sometimes the sound will work, but my mic will not. Sometimes the game/system sound works, but I cannot hear teammates when they talk nor them me. Sometimes the sound will not work at all, but it says its connected. It doesn't matter how I close out the game, turn off the console, or turn off the headset. It just disconnects. I've found it happens more often after needing to charge the headset. Usually, I have to close out the game, turn off the console, unplug the console, wait a few seconds, plug in, restart, and then the headset will work properly. Sometimes I can get away with turning off/on the headset itself, and it will reconnect normally. Sometimes it won't. It truly is unreliable in that way. This happens 4-5 times minimum a week. I play daily/nightly. I do not usually hop on/off numerous times when I sit down to play. So, if you're not a patient person & get overwhelmed/upset with technology when it doesn't "seamlessly" work.. this may not be the headset for you. Go with a plug & play type instead, or switch to a PS5 where you don't have to worry as much. However.. if you can be patient, this headset is just shy of perfection, and I truly believe it's just X-box related more than it is the headset itself. I've never had issues out of the two PS5s we own, but this X-box is driving me insane with this sort of thing. I had some issues with a popular brand headset I owned previously connecting, as well. Just be prepared to troubleshoot when it's not acting correctly, and you'll be fine. Hope this helps!

Insane quality to price, especially on sale
I bought this for playing on pc mainly and as a backup for my Xbox headset (I currently use an Arctis 9X). My pc has been acting up with bluetooth connections, and i couldnt ever get the Arctis 9Xs to sound good using Steel Series Sonar when i could get it to connect (not the headset issue, connects to everything else fine, tested other bluetooth headsets and its definitely my pc). I bought the Xbox version because I couldn't see any downside to having the Xbox specific connection as this headset will connect to everything else, and I got it on sale for prime day at about $90. Ill be comparing it to my Arctis 9X in some aspects. First very noticeable trait would be the weight. This thing weighs next to nothing compared to the Arctis 9X, partially because the headband support is plastic instead of metal. The 5X have a similar head support that is a tension band with some adjustability. The 5X band is a soft rubbery cushion piece where the Arctis 9X have a full cloth covered stretchy headband wrap that uses velcro. I dont have an issue with either, but for obvious reasons the 9X headband has more precise adjustability, the 5X has 3 different notches that you can adjust and thats is it. I believe this will work for most people. The retractable mic is solid and my voice comes through crystal clear without picking up my background noise. I think I prefer the mic to be slightly sticking out on the headset like 9X, the mic is easier to take out, but its hasn't been difficult at all regardless. The ear cups are lighter and have a less rigid foam feel than the 9X, but I think that helps the ear cups really relax around the ears and keep sound in, as they dont feel dense or act like sound canceling headsets. The only thing I dont like about the headphones themselves is the dials for the various sound enhancing and volume functions feel very cheap. They are light weight and it feel very easy to accidently over adjust your settings, where the 9X have weightier dials with better feedback. Sonar pushed my audio settings in a better direction than my 9X on pc by far, but I think for Xbox, the 9X just still have the edge. If you dont want to get into the $200 range on premium console headsets/ pc headsets, but want that quality sound and mic, this comes highly recommended. Battery life is insane. Considering i play on both Xbox and PC, I can easily go a week- 2 weeks before needing to charge it.

Excellent Sound Quality and Comfort
I’ve been really impressed with this headset. The sound quality is excellent, whether I’m gaming, listening to music, or watching movies. It’s very comfortable to wear for long sessions, and the battery life is outstanding. The multi-system compatibility is a huge plus—I can easily switch between my devices without any hassle. The SteelSeries app is also great, with plenty of EQ presets that make a noticeable difference. Overall, this is a high-quality wireless headset that’s well worth the price. Highly recommended!

Software/Hardware compatibility issue using for gaming on my Laptop 2025 ASUS p16 ProArt
Sound quality both Input and Output overall is excellent. Build and features of the product are quality, robust, ergonomic and innovative. The functionality and sound quality of the retractable microphone boom and buttons are excellent. The Headphones are very comfortable and adjustable. I did have a major issue with being able to use the full functionality and sound capabilities of the headphones that the GG and Sonus software that accompanies the headphones on my PC/Laptop box provide. I was only able to run the headphones out of box without the software and the quality of the sound at that level for the price and the reputation that the company has i was not impressed. when I attempted to operate the GG/Sonus software from the company that accompanies and enhances the quality of the sound I was not able to to get it to function at all on my PC/Laptop playing various pc games through my Xbox/Gambar application after many attempts to trouble shoot. Using the headphones in any other capacity on my computer in conjunction with the GG/Sonus software the sound quality and functionality was very impressive i believe at 8 dimensions. It also worked just as good through my phone with the similar app. I'm not sure what the software hardware issue is however the amount of time to figure it out with out success i found not worth my time. I would imagine these being a outstanding value for the money strictly on a gaming console and not my particular PC/Laptop setup.

Never going with Razer again.
I've been on the hunt for the best headphones to work for the XBOX since last year. I had ordered the Razer BlackShark V2 Pro Wireless (white edition) and they did not work at all on the XBOX (unless you directly connect it via 3.5mm head jack to the controller itself). I updated the drivers from my computer, downloaded the software, called Amazon customer service, called Razer customer service, told me it absolutely works on the XBOX but it does not. They told me to order another one and overall wasted over 5 hours of my time. So I returned it. My first and last time ever getting anything from Razer ever again, it was a stupid waste of my time, arguing, and the guy was very rude in customer service. I saw the Logitech G Pro X2 Wireless but those also do not work on XBOX wirelessly, only when connected directly via 3.5mm. These headphones came in the same day (I ordered from 10am and delivered at 8:55pm), plugged the wireless adaptor to my USB hub I got for my XBOX, and boom they immediately work. They seem like good quality, soft, and comfortable. It was this easy the entire time to just get the SteelSeries Arctic Nova 5x and I wasted weeks of time, money, and energy from the Razer guys. I'll update the review if anything happens to the headset within 6 months such as defects or anything of that sort. So far, I'm just happy I can finally use wireless headphones now for the first time in my life.

Excellent Budget Set
This headset is good for the casual gamer. I'm an "old woman" and enjoy the casual weekend binges of a couple of games. My old set finally gave up on me. So, it was time to buy a new set. I wanted wireless that would go between my game and my phone, with a decent mic, and audio. I decided to splurge this time and go high end. I gave myself a pretty large budget. I started with the same brand I'd had. I figured if my "cheap" headset from that company had been pretty solid, the high end, "latest tech" pair would be amazing. NOPE. I went to another set that had great reviews, cost even more than the set I was returning. They were gorgeous. They fit snug. However, they kept cutting out. Went with a console brand, and didn't even have to try them to know they were going right back. At this point, I was in crisis mode. Granny Gamer was about to let her clan down, having no decent head-set with a decent MIC, to use for the upcoming raid. Can you even imagine? I am the one who stands back and snipes, throws healing bombs to my team-mates, and hides to stay alive so that the kids who are doing most of the actual work don't have to start over if we all die. What WOULD we do? I was in a state of panic when I saw that these were available the same day. "What the heck?" I thought. I need a pair soon. We are doing the raid at 9PM this evening, and I still have to go get all the food and snacks so that I'm not hungry while trying to fight important battles. I had stuff to do. Well, when I got home from buying supplies, they were on my porch ready for me to use. I will stick with this head-set. It is a budget head set. Know this before you buy. However, unlike the other sets I tried, every penny I paid is worth it. The other sets...well, for 300 plus dollars, I expected so very much more. And in a lot of ways these answer the issues that those higher end sets ignored. So I'll do a list of pros and cons for you now (I've had these about a week): PROs: 1. They fit my small head. If you have a larger head, don't fret. There is a removable headstrap. 2. The sound is decent. Again, for the price, I am satisfied. 3. They were practically plug-n-play and for this old lady, youz kidz are the tech pros. I know nothing. So if you're even just needing a back-up set for your big fancy set, I'd get these. Easy Peazy Lemon Squeezy. 4.The retractable mic feature is great. 5. The on and off button for the mic is in the perfect location for ease of use. I like to keep my mic off unless I have something specific to say to my fire team. 6. The mic itself is bendable so that I can easily put it closer to my mouth. 7. The button to switch the set between the bluetooth and the dongle is in a good location as well. 8. The switch between the 2 isn't completely "seamless". However, that is countered by the ease of use of the buttons, and the "ergonomic" location of the buttons. CONS: 1. The dongle is strange. It's connected to a USB to HDMI cord that is then plugged into the back of the console. 2. The pre-set equalizer options are kind of pointless. From what I can tell right now, they actually make very little difference. 3. I can't seem to find the app to be able to set up my own EQ for it. I read Sonar, but I can't seem to get that. [I'm willing to concede that it's user error, not product error] All in all, this is a great set. I'd recommend them if you're not some super intense gamer that needs to hear the footsteps behind you (although, I'm sure that helps, it certainly is not necessary). The audio quality for music is good. And for the price, you get a LOT of bang for your buck.

Mooi geluid
Goed geluid. Soms moet dongle in en uit de Xbox halen en weer terug doen. Anders werkt mic niet

Poor support
The headset itself is of good quality with no issues of product. The headset is also only suitable for those with a smaller head. The main issue is with the support that comes with the steelseries app which is needed to update the headset. The app simply doesn't work as of the time of this review.
