Excellent product

This product is the MUST to have, if you use chalk paint. It protects amazingly. I've used this Laquer for last 5 years on everything I painted with chalk paint. From my house stair rails, fireplace mantels to picture frames and desks etc... it keeps it semi gloss and your color never fades for turns yellow from lights or touchings. I highly recommend it.

Annie Sloan and most DIY people make it look so easy… just brush it on. Not so easy and very difficult to do on a larger piece of furniture.

Thank you for the great packaging and the little note included! I really appreciate it. As someone who has never worked with lacquer before, I was very apprehensive about using it. I was afraid of encountering the issues mentioned in negative reviews, so I did a bit of research. In the end, I decided that the best way to use this product was to dilute it. I added one cup of lacquer to one cup of water. I mixed the blend with a brush to achieve a milk-like consistency without creating foam. I applied the product with a brush. I'm not sure if I did it correctly, but I can say that I am satisfied with the result. It’s important to be careful while using it as it dries very quickly. You need to blend the lacquer thoroughly and evenly into the paint. You should take off any excess lacquer with the brush. If too much lacquer is applied unevenly, it can leave white marks. I think testing it in a small area reduces the chance of making mistakes. A single coat gives a matte finish, while multiple layers provide a silky shine. I used 3-4 coats in some areas, and you can see the differences in the photos. It’s an odorless lacquer, and it looks shinier in the photos than in normal lighting.

Added a nice top surface coat to wood, with a slight shine, and textured to touch. Also good applied to furniture painted with chalk paint.

I can be a bit slap dash so probably wasn't as careful as others. I wanted to spruce up my kitchen cabinets with home made chalk paint and wallpaper which I have done before. I thought I'd try this product instead of others I've used before as it is supposed to be a durable finish. I stirred well once painted and papered and put on 2 coats. It covered really well and I hadn't watered it down. It's brilliant I have to say! It hasn't darkened the paint hardly at all and just the wallpaper a little. So so impressed. No problems at all which has really surprised me. Well done Annie Sloan.

Painted cabinets with Johnsons cabinet paint which cam up well. Could not get brush marks out with the varnish cover. Best way I found was One coat with a brush, tok off each door and drawer front, laid flat. Diluted 20/80 with water which gave a smoother finist
