It's okay

This worked great to fill the grain on my oak mantle so that I could paint it white. I applied it by making the slurry as instructed on numerous YouTube videos, let it dry, and sanded. It sanded very easily. After 3 coats, the mantle was able to be painted without grain marks. A small amount of this product goes a long way because you can scrape it off / sand it off and reuse it by putting some water into it. The only downfall to this product is it does have a terrible odor. For me, it was worth putting up with the odor because it was so easy to work with.

I have used this product before with much success filling the grain in oak cabinets. This jar was soooo hard that even after mixing and adding water for an hour, I could never get it to a consistency to apply. Nothing but lumps and clumps and when I tried to apply it anyway, it just crumbled. Really disappointed.

My purchases to fill wood on guitar bodies prior to painting and it works well.
