How do you get the popcorn to come out hot? Ours came out basically cold and stale.

Make sure you let your oil get hot before you put corn in, keep light turned on after done popping.

Does the box arrive at the door showing what is inside? I want this as a surprise.

Yes it shows a picture of popper ask the shipper to place in another box or giftwrap.

The door cracked around the handle after 5 months (4 oz. popper). Where can I order a new door?

If you look in the book that came with the popper, there should be a customer service email address. Send an email to them.

Can I use a extension cord for it?

Yes you can use an extension cord. I gave this to my son’s family a year ago and they have had it hooked up with an extension cord every sense. They absolutely love this product.
