Pearl and Penny Paper Doll: Coloring Activity Book

Very poor quality. Very expensive. It is merely a colouring book. Very flimsy compared to paper dolls I played with. It is just paper doll. No perforations for children to detach themselves. The clips of clothes are small and so frustrating to the child.

I’m extremely happy that I purchased two of these for my granddaughters. We spent hours coloring and cutting and decorating clothing and never got bored. I had paper dolls as a child and always loved them and apparently that hasn’t changed just because I’m an adult. 😅 We watched some of Laura’s tutorials on YouTube and even posted our project on Instagram. We will be heading to the store to get some bling to add to the cute outfits in the book. There are some that are already pre colored and some that you get to color and design on your own. My 9 year old granddaughter likes that there is a mix of both. This book is so cute and we love the colors and designs. We are already looking forward to the next book. Colored pencils work nicely. You’ll need a good pair of scissors, tape, and glue. I used scotch tape and a glue stick. For our first cut out doll, we traced her outline on a foam core cardboard and then cut that out and used a glue stick to glue her to the board. We also used foam core board to make a little base so she stands. Bottom line is that this book is so fun and cute and worth every “Pearl and Penny.”

Great variety of outfits to color and the quality of the paper is wonderful. My 11yr old had so much fun creating her own color schemes and putting the outfits together on Penny and Pearl! I had a good time helping her also. The outfits are cute and stylish, but also appropriate for young ages to be artistic with; which I really appreciate these days! Highly recommend!

I purchased this coloring book for a friend’s daughter and based on her reaction I’ll be purchasing these books any time an event comes up with all the other girls in my life. Some of the best “features” about the book are that the artist provided some outfits already printed with color but also gives the child the opportunity to design their own outfits. The artist included KEY important features that little girls love to play pretend with: furniture, a closet and a bed. I cannot wait for future editions to come with other furniture pieces and accessories and outfits and furniture for pearl as well!
