Arrived from China well packaged and in good time from date of delivery. However, the unit is a PIR system and not what is in the description, a magnetic contact alarm. The unit is thinly moulded plastic about 100mm high, 700mm wide. The unit runs on a single 9v battery, not supplied. The unit can be disarmed easily so this unit should only be placed in an area for advisory unauthorised access within audible range of which the alarm volume is very loud and shrill.

I think its a great little unit and whether on chime or alarm its loud. I would have liked it though to be more sensitive but that is okay.

Utter waste..not working after few days...

Install fresh 9 volt batteries, then switch to chime first. Needed something to detect movement of living room windows at night. When live in a split level home and like to leave the 2 windows open as night cools. Have sticks in the jams which only will allow window to open a few inches. Wanted to leave them all the way open for coolness when sleeping. Our area has had people sneak into homes in middle of the night, steal items while the people are asleep. We have an alarm system which would trigger if a slider or door was opened. Not on the front room windows. I placed one of these in the bottom corner of window frames, on chime mode. Faced towards other side of window jam. Will trigger alarm if I put my hand in window opening, which is what I wanted. If a creep was to stand on someones shoulders, they could remove the window screen and crawl in (when windows all the way open). This 2 pack does exactly what I had hoped for. Now I can leave windows all the way open and have a portable sensor for each window. Handy if you travel and stay in a strange Hotel-Motel. Will use it when we stay at places where we want an alarm pointing towards the hotel room door. The Chime mode is nice and loud, we will be able to hear it down the hallway. The alarm mode is really loud, which is what alarms are supposed to do. It is designed as a deterrent and works surprisingly well. Remember it is infrared, line of sight. Something has to cross the beam in order to trigger alarm. Not like a motion sensor outdoor light that works side to side as well. Ones received only work directly in front. However, did place one on table and crossed invisible beam at about 10ft, triggered as it should. Thought I read in description it was supposed to have some side activation, which neither of mine do. The line of sight is actually my preference for how we will use them. In the window and out of the way. Activated if anything crosses beam. When you turn it on, the red light will blink for a minute. Once the light goes out, it is good to go. If you walk in front of it, it will chime 2 times and stop. If you continue to move in front of its beam, it will keep chiming as long as there is movement. The alarm function is really really loud, which is also nice if ever needed.
