Works well, keep it at 10A or below
I use this on the 10amp setting through an extension lead and an external socket. The socket has an RCD as does the extension lead which was a special lead made up by a company which specialises in these. In the UK, unless you have a special socket made for it, it isn't safe to go above 10amps. The unit is reliable and works with my VW ID.4 on Octopus Intelligent Go, switching on and off overnight as per the charging schedule.

Make sure you read the instructions
I was traveling to my in-laws who don't have a charge point for EV's so I needed something to get juice into the car. This worked really well for me and I'd say the #1 thing to do is read the instructions. Just because the charger can draw at 12V doesn't mean you should or that the outlet it's plugged in to is rated for that level.I started my charge off at 8V, checked on it's temperature after half an hour - it shows a temperature which I assume is in the unit but I used the back of my hand on the plug also - and it was very low, then gave it 10V and checked after half an hour, it was fine. I checked again after an hour and no issues then left it overnight. Most UK plugs are 10V.Obviously this is a trickle charge compared to a specialist EV port, but it is what it is and if you're planning to go somewhere with limited charging options this is a decent solution. Just be careful, use the lower settings and check on the heat and don't expect super fast charging.

Tripped power & burnt smoking plug
The media could not be loaded. Would leave 0 stars if I could.Been using for approx 5-6months. Plug was getting warm to touch but nothing of any concern.Would charge car overnight once a week.Last night our power tripped. Looked around to see what had tripped it and found the car charger plug smoking. Scary, as if this had hadn’t whilst sleeping we wouldn’t have know the power had tripped . And potentially caused a fire.Lots of reviews now of similar issues. Please don’t buy.

13A EV charger unit - good quality, good price
This is a great little charger. Company did send useful advice by e-mail that normal 13A sockets are not rated for 13A continuously so recommended charging at 6 or 8 Amps. This is correct as normal 13A sockets are only tested at 13A for 4 hour rating. Using a normal 13A socket at full load for an extended period of time risks overheating and could damage the socket and / or wiring.A new 'EV' rated 13A socket is now available. I had one of these installed as a dedicated circuit to ensure no overload / over heating of socket. The only minor point about the charger unit, which I suspect is common to other makes, is that the delayed charging facility only allows up to a 12 hour delay in 1 hour increments. It would be more useful to allow more than 12 hours delay and to have perhaps 30 minute increments. This would make it easier to align the charger time with a cheap rate overnight electricity tariff. Charger unit cable and cable bracket all seem to be good quality and it works well with my plug-in hybrid vehicle.

Good build quality and great features.
Worked perfectly whilst I waited for my charger to be installed and will now be my back up going forward.Good build quality and with an excellent display and all the features I need.I especially like the fact I can reduce the charging current as I was using it off an extension lead.Very good value for money.

Excellent Buy
We are new to EV charging. So bought this until we can have a dedicated wall charger fitted. This has been so good, we are thinking of just sticking with this.It seems to be supplying the charge at the maximum 12/13 amp rate. Therefore charging times are quicker than we expected. We only do about 50-100 miles a day, so it is only taking a few hours to add this back. The display is clear and easy to understand, and it seems very well made and sturdy.Seems worth the money.

Well Made and Functions Well
My EV only came with a connection cable for a wall charger so I needed a 'granny' charger to to enable me to charge my car since the cost of a wall charger is too expensive. This EVDANCE unit is conveniently light to carry and the adjustable charge rate allows me to use a conventional three pin socket in my garage to trickle charge my car without overloading the circuit. Since I don't use my car on a daily basis this is ideal for me. The carry case is useful to keep the charger/cable stowed either in the boot of the car or else in the garage. I tried the 13 Amp option but I found that this caused the three pin socket to warm up after 2-3 hours whereas the 10 Amp option did not (the socket is not BS1363/EV).

So far so good
Pros:Plug temperature sensor gives peace of mindSwitchable current settings makes for safer and less stressful chargingDelay function allows you to charge when it's cheapest.Handy display of how much kWh have been charged to allow accurate chargingConsWish it had a timer function to turn off when you've either done some time or certain kwhWiFi connection to monitor remotely would be good but not essential.I wish I'd gone for the 10 metre one instead of the 6 metre one. But working fine.
