Great replacement Which Also Adds a Missing Microphone Connection
I fitted a Tesla style head unit to my Jaguar XF a couple of years ago as I loved the larger screen size and the ability to use Android apps in my car. The problem I had over this time was that the built in microphone was not very good and even after a lot of manipulation people still couldn't hear me very well so I started to look at a way to add an external microphone. After trying bluetooth which didn't work and a few other options I removed the head unit to see what connections I had but no microphone connector was fitted as part of the original loom even though the head unit did have the output for it. When I saw this replacement wiring loom that had the microphone wires and connector I thought it worth a try and so I ordered it. With the old loom removed I checked the connector tons and wires against this new one and everything looked to be the same including the head units connection plug so I simply swapped the harnesses over and now everything works as before but I now also have the connector for an external microphone that saves me having to hack into the old wiring. With the new loom fitted and the head unit back in place I connected a new Sony microphone to the new connector that I now have and placed the actual receiver on my dashboard near to the driver. When I make or receive phone calls in my car now people can hear me properly even at speed when driving so this was a very good replacement over the old loom. Brilliant as a replacement for a damaged loom but even better if like me you have no external microphone fitted. Recommended.

Good array of connections, well labelled
Used this when upgrading the head unit and sound system in my car, plus added a dash cam while I was at it. Very useful lead, with an array of connections that are nicely colour coded and labelled. Quality seems ok - I’d certainly advise being careful but to put much tension on it, but this would be true of any similar item. Works great, no issues with connection or sound quality. Good value.
