Works for wheat bran removal as well as polishing rice, home millers, read on
Although I tried this on rice, and it works very well, my intended use was something it did not claim to do.I mill my own flour, and for some recipes, I do not want whole wheat (delicate pastries, pan de mie, etc.,.)I have been using a motorized sieve, and that works, but it is cumbersome, messy, and it does not get as much of the bran out as I want, at least without losing a lot of flour, no matter what mesh I use.I finally concluded that I needed a way to remove the bran BEFORE I mill the flour. After a long search I found this machine and decided to give it a try. I knew that the manual was in Japanese, but I have access to people who read and speak the language, so that did not stop me. As it turns out, Google Translate did such a good job I didn't need any help from family and friends. It took a little experimentation with the settings, but I found that two or three cycles with this machine did a much better job than using the motorized sieve when it comes to removing unwanted bran. The result is the closest I have ever come to producing a white flour (yes, I know, I'm going to h3ll for doing this) and it made a very nice pan de mie.Motorized (vibratory) sieves still have a place for sizing flour when doing cakes and pastry, but for bran removal I will never use anything but my rice cleaner. And if you are storing rice and want to freshen white rice, or want to convert brown rice to white, this works great. I haven't been able to get hold of Paddy Rice yet, so I can't say whether it works for that or not, but maybe? If I get a chance to try that I will try to remember to update this review. Anyway, for my fellow (almost) white flour at home heretics, this is the ticket, and it works well for its intended use as well. I hope you find this helpful

Great product, but requires a transformer
I like this product very much! However, it is meant to be used with 100volt power supply only according to its manual written in Japanese. (If my understanding is correct, American standard power supply is 110V/120V/200V.) The user must operate it with a transformer. That's why I put only 4 stars.

Essential for milling unhusked rice.
Bought this as a gift for my Japanese daughter-in-law. She uses it every day to process husked rice for her family’s daily diet. The polished end product is very fresh after being preserved in its husk and results in a delicious meal each time. The husks can be used to make Japanese Nuc for pickled vegetables. Nothing goes to waste.

Great!
I use it to polish (mill) organic brown rice at 50%. It is easy to use and works great. It came straight from Japan but took like a week or less to get here. The only thing is that everything is in Japanese so you'll need to know the language or have someone translate it for you.
