Keeps getting weirder, and better (Warning, prior seasons spoilers)
+++Warning, this has spoilers from seasons 1 and 2, but no major season 3 giveaways+++The third season of Mr. Robot brings the show back into the "real world" after spending much of season 2 in Elliot's head while he was in prison. It is still about the fallout of the 5/9 hack of E corp., as well as setting up a much more massive phase two that was hinted at last season. This season reveals more about the Dark Army and the various operatives they have working for them. It also reveals what Wellick was doing all of season 2 which he was mostly absent for. I will not go into too much of what happens this season because it is hard to do so without giving too much away. I will say that the various characters, even the "good" ones, continue to be morally ambiguous (at best). And some even take a turn for the worse. The extras, for those who get the blu ray, are okay, but not extensive. Deleted scenes for some episodes, a gag reel, and a couple behind the scenes featurettes. It is definitely not a show that will appeal to everyone. But, if you liked the first couple seasons (especially season 1), you will probably like this. You do get the unedited episodes on disc (which basically means the f-word is not bleeped out as it is when it airs on TV), and there is violence, sex, and drug use. And, even though it is set in the past, it does manage to take a few shots at donald trump, whom if you follow the show's creator on Twitter, you know he despises. So if any of that would turn you off to a show, then you probably want to skip this. For everyone else, it is well written and acted, even it is a bit (and sometimes more than a bit) weird. Definitely worth checking out.

Immersive, cinematic mind-boink for the thinking viewer who enjoys a challenge!
I've been a fan since before Season 1 began broadcasting. Pre-production notes drew me to this richly cinematic experience. Justwatching with the sound off, one can learn a wealth of material about framing, camera angle, lighting, direction, etc. Sam Esmail, the creator and director, is a freaking genius. And the story is rich and multi-layered (to say the least!), which means I enjoy and actually prefer watching at least twice. I watch each episode as it arrives, and then feast (binge) again on the season as a whole. This material is very dark in places, but it will make you see things in a whole new way. Probably many new ways. You'll never take your "idle" webcam camera lens for granted again, that's for sure. Rami Malik plays Eliot Alderson, a very complex, intelligent yet troubled young man of many talents. Start with Season 1, Episode 1, and work your way through. A bumpy, often scary ride, but well worth it. Amazing story-telling, richly detailed. Deep and complex characters with backstories that are usually not what you expect. Don't believe most of what you see, and believe nothing you assume. Damn satisfying viewing, though!Warning to squeamish viewers: harsh language (which doesn't bother me, but does bother some), and violence. Always within a context though - never gratuitous. All in all, one hell of a ride! Enjoy. (By the way, each Season Finale must be watched *past* the end credits for bonus footage, or you'll miss key footage.)

Existential Perspective seems more lost in Season 3
Existential Perspective seems more lost in Season 3. I got hooked on this series because of the main character's development focusing on isolation, sadness, loneliness, meaninglessness that is, existentialism (what it is to exist) or also known as "the human condition" that so many of us suffer.I was sad to see what I took to be this series go the direction of so many others in that it brings back despicable characters as leads. It's just hard to feel right knowing a main character (Tyrell) is a psychopath that doesn't share ANY of the "human conditions" with me or the rest of humankind. At least they killed off his sociopath wife. When a writer only knows how to create tension using devices that push emotional buttons more than allowing us to think about a situation and feel emotion about it, that's what I call lazy writing. It's more along the lines of tabloid or horror show gimmicks. However, even though the writers chose to keep a psychopath main character around, we are reminded very emphatically that this character is INDEED a psychopath and the writers brilliantly include him without glorifying him. Well, done, again.I hope the writers do not forget that this is an existential substance oriented philosophical series, where the human condition is the well spring of plot direction.

The saga continues
Took the chance and bought season 3 too.Rami Malek is incredibly talented and continues his mesmerizing portrayal of Elliot in season 3. Season 3 portrays the consequences of the hack in season 2 with Elliot trying to undo the mess that resulted. While I know people can intentionally hurt themselves this series goes several steps beyond a personality inflicting intentional personal bodily harm to where Elliot appears to be flung around by an invisible attacker. As a RN that has worked in Mental Health I can honestly say I have never witnessed this in patients with DID (disassociate identity disorder). Can only speculate where Sam Esmail is going to take season 4 (the final season). I fear there is a gruesome end in sight for poor, tortured Elliot.I keep praying for Rami as this series is incredibly disturbing and dark and Rami does not take on any acting role by half measures. He's one of those all-or-nothing actors

If you were worried about the third season, you needn't have.
Sam Esmail is the genius writer/director of this show and he deserves all the plaudits that come for this show. Third season, and i was apprehensive before it came out, would it live up to the incredible standards set during the first season. The second season didn't quite reach it, but having said that, it was still very very good. The third season is simply riveting. New characters, like Irving (Bobby Cannavale) light up the show, like Dom (Grace Gummer) last season, are wholly suited to this expanding story line, and don't feel like a lazy writer move at all. This is a show that isn't as talked about as the Breaking Bad's and the Stranger things of this world, and i think that this is a good thing. I love that a show of this ultra high calibre is only has a 'medium' level following, because simply, it's not for everyone, a cerebral show if ever there was one. Rami Malek might have a big problem after this show is finished, because he inhabits the 'troubled' Elliot to such an extent that it is truly difficult to see him in anything else. If this goes to five seasons, and keeps this level of entertainment, then it will truly be a classic television show. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Excellent
The video and audio presentation of the show is excellent. Mr Robot has never looked better. Felt that this season had a more blurry filter to each of the episodes compared to other seasons but still impressive. Wished there was more to the special features but with a show as good as this, you can overlook the small things.
