does the job very well. I am a handy man and a lot of the jobs i get hired for is hanging pictures. I bought this to help me out level everything. works very well. although when adjusting the height of the tripod, the laser line becomes very shaky but settles down in about 3 seconds. Its not very easy to adjust this slowly as a very slight movement will shake the laser. I will have to raise it or lower it by about an inch then i will have to wait for a couple seconds to see it the laser line is at the preferred height. If not I will have to redo and adjust the height then wait for the laser to settle again. As a home owner this is not a problem. As someone trying to be fast and efficient on the job, Im losing a few seconds at a time waiting for the laser to settle everytime I adjust the height. Anyways, overall good. Price beats the small inconvenience.

This laser level has been extremely helpful in all kinds of scenarios. I've been using this level fairly frequently over the past year and the batteries still have power. It's continued to function after accidental drops and intentional tosses into my tool bag. It is bright enough to use almost anywhere. It saves a lot of time instead of fumbling with a bubble level along with your measuring tape.

Works great but wish it pointed light vertically straight up. Requires setting back from target. Light comes out in a fan angle, not perpendicular to.

A good simple laser level for around $20. I've not used it outside, but even with a lot of daylight streaming into the house, the green laser is easy to read across a large room. This is so much easier to use when hanging shelves or dual picture hangers for large items. Keep in mind, if you are hanging curtain rods or something up high, you will need a tall tripod or other support (shelf, curtain rod, etc.) on a nearby wall at the same height. It does allow you to manually adjust it, tilting (forward, backward, left, right) , but if you want it to use its automatic centering feature, it needs to be on the same plane. It takes a 1/4-20 thread - the same as most cameras and tripods A nice addition to my toolkits.
